12 Months; 7 Projects

Alright, everyone, here are the posts for all my one-time projects for 2020. It's too late, but it's not too late, because the 2018 and 2019 editions haven't been released yet. But I still plan to do it. Because during these two years I developed several of my own knitting projects and I wanted to write and print a design before publishing the pattern. In total, I have six item templates that I want to be ready to release by the end of 2021, and when the templates are ready, I'll have two "closed post" drafts. In the meantime, if anyone wants to see what I'm doing, I'll post my personal projects on the Modwardian blog .

As for the photo above... I would like to choose the most beautiful list of the year in the titles of these articles, but this year I found the photo above, if not the photo more compelling then this is definitely the best for 2020. Everyone knows a year ago there was a trash fire. But we have reason to hope that in 2021 things will improve. This is the most important of them. The most powerful country in the world is back in power.

In 2020, my life had changed less than most people. I suffer from chronic fatigue, had financial problems for many years and was more or less alone at home and had neither the money nor the energy to go anywhere. Sometimes when I see or hear about the isolation and practical consequences of an epidemic, I think, "Hello, hello and welcome to my world". Most of the steps I've taken to save money and labor have worked well in outbreaks. Once a week I go to buy food and I never eat. I deliberately chose a hairstyle without bangs that grows well, so it can only be cut twice a year; I dye my hair, do my nails and lubricate my eyebrows; I have a lot of friends online and especially “online”; My hobby is what I do alone at home; I use all the junk and know how to fix and maintain things, reduce the amount of things I buy, etc.

However, the epidemic affected me. I say I'm a little more productive this year, it seems like chronic fatigue is getting worse, maybe because of all this stress [things are going to get worse]. And it affected my job, sometimes it was difficult for me to get what I needed, or even give things to people as gifts. A D In 2020, I made what I considered my coronavirus blanket and made a 38:5 face mask , 13 gifts for family and friends, and 20 for sale.

But let's take a look at some of the things I did at home in 2020.

In January 2020, my first project this year was a sweater for my sister Bougainville's seventh birthday.

AD At the end of 2019, while planning sweater patterns for next year, I was looking for a suitable pattern for my Ravelry Bug sweater for my birthday and found beach stripes, the dots you see in the photo below above. . Knitting is very interesting, and for me, very rarely, I decided to make a sweater in colors according to the patterns, or as close as possible. In December, I visited Romney Wall and bought yarn for three projects, one of which was Bug. I went with Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Grey, White, Navy, of course, Red and Turtle. The colors correspond to other shades of gray-green, except for a slightly brighter green. 220 Ar is a heavier yarn than the SuperWash model, but this model can be adjusted by twisting the needles over half the size required, in this case 5mm instead of 5mm.

And the finished product is there. It was a very simple moment and I explained it in two weeks. My design change was not as gray as the pattern, but to lower the ribs below and above the cuffs. I saved this money because I was able to do this project on a piece of gray paper (then returned the other gray lines I bought on credit) and I had some thread left in the fleet. I made a mistake in the line, but I don't care - it's as beautiful as me. I am satisfied with the result.

I bought it at a thrift store because back in the bug days it didn't really care about clothes. He loves to read, prefers science fiction to fiction, and is passionate about science, so I bought National Geographic's children's books, Puppet Caleyscope, and got two new masks. I'm sure nothing was given as a pillow she gave him on his fifth birthday, but my nephew Bug told me he was happy with the gift.

In total, after completing this project, I received 160 grams of newly purchased yarn.

When I decided I wanted to knit for this cotton project, I started my summer weight with khaki pants and shorts. I liked the idea of a classic Breton olive sweater and thought of doing one of these styles.

I was looking for a suitable sweater model at Ravelly and I sat on the strips! To purchase the right yarn, I visited the Romney Yarn Store in Toronto and was pleased to learn that the yarn I was looking for in real cheap, 200 gram yarn was in the shade. 414, does not appear on the Ravelry or Schachenmayr site, but is dark olive in color.

And here is a thing with a simple khaki finish made a few years ago. The khaki pants and shorts I wear are darker shades and work better with sweaters, but I can't wear them over a dress.

The sweater, which I had to wear in less than three weeks, caught nine of my stupid mistakes. First of all, I guess the German is 38 by 38 inches. It wasn't, and I accidentally stretched it to my chest. I had to tear everything up and start over at 42. Then I was going to finish my body, I realized that the sweater would be too long - I had to do it in mathematical lines. At that time I had to break all the way to the beginning and start with not one but two rows of olives.

At this point, I realized that I had acquired insufficient yarn. Going back to Romney Wool, I bought two 50 grams of olives and an extra 50 grams of jade - the last stick they had, and hoped that would be enough. Phil

Then I realized it would be too short to complete the first sleeve and had to rip it to figure out what the ribbon design should be for the correct length (I needed to add *two* line "8 Jade Lines / 8 Olive Lines"), and start again.

Even then, as soon as I started doing the first run, I realized I had gotten the yoke wrong. It was too short to measure the shape of the model and I mistakenly added an inch because the last centimeter was created from stitches made by tying my body under my arm. They also made the yoke too long and the body too short, making it awkward. At first I couldn't resist almost ripping the sweater off and thought I could live with it, but after I finished my first run and tried the sweater on I realized I couldn't. not. I untied the handle, tore it to the edge of the yoke and shouted again. This time I was able to do it correctly. You can imagine how many extra perks I need to finish the jerseys, but I did and I did.

I basically think I made this sweater three times. Fortunately, after all that, I really like sweaters.

And I only had 40 grams for each yarn, so I bought the right yarn for the sweater. This project is made of new yarn, so it's an extra 80 grams.

My third project plan started when I was preparing a to-do list for the end of 2019 and I decided to make a Christmas sweater for my sister Olivia as a gift for 2020. I chose the most beautiful model which requires heavy DK yarn. I then found 700 grams of Serpentine with dark salmon loops and threads (pictured above) in the 2019 Christmas socks. ( My grandfather's parents had big socks at home ). Instead of buying a new one, use some of these yarns to make an Olivia sweater - it matches in color - so I was looking for a suitable weight pattern for this.

I sat on the model above , a Celtic elite kids sweater designed by Vera Sanone . It's a good classic product and I always easily sell Celtic style cables.

Then I had a lot of Meandering Serpentine to work with, so I decided on a hat pattern. Little girls like to have their own clothes like hats and handbags. I wasn't too strict on the design of the beanie - it had to be a lightweight design that went well with the sweater. I chose a little bird hat designed with beer town yarns .

And here is a ready-made sweater. The pattern is written simply and clearly, so it turned out well. It was woven from thread to thread, so it was a bit. After the last project, it was a great relief.

Then I made a hat. Instead of making a simple ribbon as the design requires, I used yarn around the neckline, cuffs, and sweaters. I dotted the body of the hat in the design and made the usual socks of the hat. The hat I got was a little lighter so I added a can.

Sweaters and beanies make a smart little team. With that I bought a few things from the Dollar Store, a picture book, a picture book and a crane, a hedgehog, a few short haircuts and so on. A D I haven't been able to see Olivia in 2020, but I wrote her an email. He opened the Christmas present and his mother took a picture of it when he opened it and emailed it to me. There was a picture of Olivia in her little house, and she was especially loved - she was of French descent and looked very real, and her train sat in a little Parisian cafe .

In this project, 240 grams were used, which I consider to have accumulated yarn, because she did not buy it. I was still confused by the 460 grams of Serpentine Winding, but never fear; I also wanted to use it.

These 460 grams of twisted yarn were enough for me to make a sweater.

I wasn't impressed with the color of the salmon, but thought it would be mobile in combination with some greens. I had 100 grams of lime green yarn in stock (I bought it a long time ago, I don't remember which brand), and now I just had to buy some red olive green yarn. I was looking for a suitable Ravelry tricolor model and in the photo above I found a Winchester model Jennifer Stingeson . so cute. And then I bought a match with a red heart on a dark leaf . It's Aran, it wasn't the perfect combination for the villain, but the Greens are hard to coordinate, and Michael was the right voice.

And the finished project is there. I put it on target and tweaked the setting a bit. The pattern called for the sweater to be wider at the waist than the waist, but I actually made the size larger because it was smaller than the waist and didn't have that extra width. Sweater the same width as the chest. I haven't caught that salmon thread yet, but it doesn't fit my face, and the passing sweater looks exactly (and probably unbreakable) like my house clothes. Since I didn't have a dress that would match that sweater in this photo, I had to wear an olive embroidered dress with a sweater, but I paired it with an olive khaki that I often wear at home to match my outfit current. Dmitri

This project used 100 grams of limes I had on hand, green olives I bought, and 270 grams of salmon, so that's a 370 gram discount. I still have 190 grams of salmon left to use. Well, sooner or later, I'm sure I'll be able to prepare for another project. In fact, that's what I do.

My next project was a Mother's Day gift. The mother is very curious. As he says, "they are wise. And their eyes are large." When planning or buying gifts, I try to take care of the important things with a theme of curiosity he desires. For years I've been giving you owl bags, owl brooms, owl Christmas tree decorations, metal owl bath, owl perfume, owl mug, and red costume timer (turn your head).

I knew this would be a gift for my mother when I found the Oswald Owl pattern pillow designed by Martin Story pictured above. It's a pretty simple, yet stylish design and lots of fun for adults.

Here is my version of Oswald's Owl. I used crisp loops and yarns in Putty and Walnut Tweed. I tried to stay neutral so my mum could choose where she would put it in the house, and while I was doing that I went through the process, thinking it was going too far in the face of neutrality than the color scheme was dull and boring. Ugly. But one day I didn't think about what it was.

The pattern says the pillow should rest on four sides, but I think it helps to put more effort into attaching the chains to the pillows - you can remove and clean the cover from the pillow form. I prefer the zipper to be the main color of the pillow, but I don't have a color and had the opposite brown thread in the zipper and went with it. The one I used, I actually took it out of my brown hat , then took it off like a sweater, and had to put it back together because it was partly felted - the chains are strong and durable , and the practice is modest. And good green. Life chains that are still in good condition if worn or damaged.

I think there is a problem in the coffee. It does not indicate when the pillow is upright and often stops. A D I used a method of attaching a chain that I dug up in 2018: I made two chains out of yarn, sewed them into a chain, and sewed them to the chain cushion with rings . (A more detailed and in-depth explanation of this method can be found in this article .)

I spread the shape of the ivory pillow with my hands. In my opinion, if you left fabric for the brand, then make pillows a little cheaper (and it takes more time than buying) and you can make them the right size and power.

This pillow was featured in mid-August, but it was my Mother's Day gift this year ( along with two masks and a purse ). Mom wasn't particularly interested in the pillow, but she apparently didn't like it, and with it was a win. My sister Pitch or my nephew Azalora warned his mother to look at this pillow when she visited his house because they love the closet and the pillow can be secretly lost when they leave.

This next project was created because I wanted a brown beanie and scarf with a simple brown winter coat. I thought that would be a good direction for the design of Fair Isle. I also decided to make a pair of brown gloves from the collection. However, I have brown embroidered gloves that I made in 2014 , but I'm very tired, so it's better to leave a second pair of gloves in your coat pockets rather than constantly moving them around. I have a coat.

I was looking for a suitable model at Ravelry and found a design by Mary Henderson Pine Creek that I liked at first sight. I decided to get two shades of coffee and a contrasting color to emphasize the point. What gloves should I wear now? I also didn't want to wear gloves on this island because my rule is to wear a two-piece sweater, and while that may look nice, a three -piece sweater in the same unique design is a good idea...to associate evenly with many. . But I can knit gloves on the same dark brown yarn for the perfect look, then the gloves can be removed from any winter coat.

While looking for the right model of gloves in Ravelly, I found a model from Nisu, designed by Marca Marie. They're not very easy to measure, and I thought the rope bag model was a simple island model for the Pine Creek team.

I went to Romney Walls in Toronto to pick up my nails. At Café Royal, I bought three Mirasol Sulfur Nina lashes, a nice blend of merino, alpaca and silk that felt great against the skin, then bought a mini sandwich for the light brown and contrasting colors. Alpaca ፡ 26,265 tons, pale brown and 3508 identical yarns, which is a kind of stupid pumpkin.

As you can imagine, this project required not only light fiber and small needles, but also a beautiful island. But it went well. I don't think it's wrong to talk about it. Only regret, he did not choose a lighter brown shade than the Sandnes Garn Mini Alpaca 2652; The higher the contrast, the more impressive the collection and the better the design. It's as quiet as I like.

This is the first layer I did. I have to take out the hood - they are very practical because they stay in place, ie they cover and cover imperceptibly - but I prefer the look of my skate. However, while I was planning on changing the hat design to the scarf design, in this particular project the cap was the way to go. The lower part of the island doesn't look appealing and I didn't want to cover the island. I'm happy with how the finished box touched me, so that's good.

Here is the patient. It is a very beautiful model. There was no orange thread in the photos - it's a golden golden yellow.

Filling the box and Tamina, he put on his gloves.

While I was working, the gloves gave me a hard time. A real glove Who raised you?

Wear ready-to-use gloves, elegant and beautiful. It turns out that the top of this pair of gloves reminded me why I don't wear them often. They are very demanding and difficult to achieve . I think it's important to wear it once in a while because a pair of gloves is perfect. But I don't want to do it often or I don't want to make gloves for someone else because everyone who wants to use them has to sit next to me while I work and try on gloves every five minutes.
