Knit Simple Winter 2017: A Review
In today's article we are going to look at the Winter 2017 issue of Knit Simple .
Model 1, turtleneck is larger. There's nothing objectively wrong with that, but I'm sure I feel like lemon curd.
Model 2, socks with texture. I do not really like the textures - they do not look good when lying down.
Model 3, collar vest. It's too deconstructed to work. The edges seem to bend accidentally, not intentionally.
Speech 4, Cozies Cup. I have never seen a point where coffee mugs, hot chocolate and the like need to be licked or spilled and washed.
Model 5, hot water bottle cap. Hot water bottles make more sense because they tend to be unattractive, and what's more appealing and comfortable than a warmer with a cute sweater?
Reason 6, braided poncho. It's not bad, but like most ponchos I can not help but think that it will get better as a Afghan.
Model 7, texture cushion. A nice piece, useful and will fit on many benches.
Model 8, lace scarf. The laces are beautiful, but when I knit a rectangular scarf like this, I always find the style uncomfortable.
Model 9, covered with crest. An Afghan classic.
Reason 10, handkerchief. It's as simple as it gets, but you can always update it by creating beautiful and interesting threads.
Model 11, colored hat. Classic striped hats come in handy and are a great way to use up unnecessary yarn.
Model 12, Chevron hat. This is a dramatic and striking chevron pattern.
Model 13, woven hat. Very nice standard hat.
Model 14, Fair Isle hat. This is pretty good, though I would not describe it island fairly.
Model 15, two-tone striped hat. Interesting combination of textures and lines.
Model 16, bobble hat. I do not really like this inflated point that makes it look incomplete.
Model 17, Hat with pompoms. Not bad. I definitely prefer brushes over pom poms as I think it is more suitable for adults.
Model 18, polar bear jacket, hat and gloves. The gloves are good, but I do not really care about the hat or the jacket, they both look clumsy and cheap.
Model 19, polar bear pillow. It's a square polar bear.
Model 20, teddy bear hat and sweater. Cute enough without the "sophisticated" sweaters, hats and gloves with a polar bear theme.
Model 21, sweater with round collar.
Beautiful textures, shapes and gradient effects.
Model 22, vest with three-quarter sleeves. I prefer this one's figurative color palette and the way the front edges are styled, but the body shape and arms are so loose and wide that the overall look does not work.
Model 23, narrow shawl. Not bad. Interesting border pattern.
Model 24, long cap. Simple enough, but it will happen.
Nest 25, linen scarf. I like the linen stitch effect, but I do not love the color palette used here. I will limit myself to that as well.
Model 26, hat with crossbar. Simple but good effect.
Model 27, closed lid. A great way to warm up baby, give him space to kick and move.
