Knitty Deep Fall 2017: A Review

Knitty has released a 2017 edition of Deep Fall . Let's see, okay?

Pistachio saffron. This sweater is designed for a knitted version of a T-shirt. Not bad. It has a nuanced and intuitive look. The designer suggests if you don't want it wide enough, resize and / or remove the A-line extension.

Hostcappe. This is a very intense blend of models.

icing It's a nice little room.

Alicorn. Comfortable classic hood.

Waterfall. It is wearable, has a modern look and some nice details.

Turbulence. I don't know what to call this job. I'd haul it over my shoulders, but it's bigger and covers more than the usual shoulder tension. "Shake Shoulder Sweater" is pretty accurate, but it sounds a little silly. A shortened version of "slankette" or "slanket" (patchwork with sleeves) might be another idea, but it's more nonsense. Aside from that, while I'm not going to use this fabric because I like having a more precise shape and structure than jersey, it works well with casual wear.

Bu Bu. This model was created when the designer was making a sweater, the model didn't like the fit of the sweater and therefore it was cut like a skirt. As much as I hate to stand in the way of creative efforts to save failed projects and avoid spending, I don't think the restoration efforts have been successful enough, even if they are as beautiful as a gorgeous island and skirt. The skirt is very similar to a sewn cardigan. I would rework it a bit more, leaving the seam line by hand, holding it in place and sewing on a zipper or button, or skipping it altogether and keeping the round structure intact.

Vilvarinda. It can be worn as a pleated skirt or shawl and I love the visually interesting lines and colors.

Havana. Oooh, beautiful stuff. It is in great shape, flattering and looks good in many outfits and on many occasions.

Kovician waves. This designer came up with this hat and cap because he wanted to use the Kowichan weaving technique he had learned in class (and even wrote an accompanying article on the history of Kovichan weaving). I would say these fabrics are a valuable addition to the traditional style of Cowichan sweaters.

High voltage. The first irony that came to mind when I looked at these socks was that they would be perfect to wear to meet a Flash Gordon fan, but as I looked closer, the bursts of energy felt more like sperm. . . . I guess they might still be suitable for meeting a Flash Gordon fan, but ... maybe not for a first date? But this is obviously your decision. I don't know your life

Lesula. I really like trendy old school style menswear.

We cordially invite you. This is what you use for dinner when a person wants their guests to be a little confused and confused. Or if a girl has a maniacal pixie dream and everyone knows it's normal.

A little quirky. The fabric was intended for the designer's mother, who told her daughter that "she's done with her normal life and will now be wearing clothes that don't even try to be normal." (Actually, it's weird, and it reminded me of Alison Lurie's favorite little essay about the day she went out of fashion at 60. ) The designer writes that she was "trying to satisfy her mother's strange appetite ... I'm creating something, so as not to embarrass my children ". I'm sure mom loved her sweater and her grandchildren wouldn't be shocked to see grandma inside, but I don't think the designer managed to come up with a consistent design. Unusual design requires unforgiving courage and some internal logic, and this design is both confident and classic, boldly offering some unusual details.

I would repeat it here and there. The body shape and tailoring are excellent. I love the vintage details, the zips on the front and the silver buttons on the cuffs, so keep it up. A pocket that is the same color as the coat's body looks pale, so I would make it a different contrast color or the same color as the main color. Lace on the skirts and cuffs is a good idea, but if you're looking for a sweater, it's a little too neat, so I'd choose lace in a fun, contrasting color to match the pocket. I'm not surprised with this back collar, ruffled edges or front style, so I think I can transform the shape into a square collar and sew it to fit in my pocket.

Round carpet. This little woven rug is beautiful on its own, but I don't see it as a kitchen rug, but as a rug in the living room of a modern dollhouse. But I don't know your kitchen table or your little house.

branched. Exactly. They are attractive and practical and knit very quickly.
