Knitty Winter 2018: A Review
Knitty has released the winter 2018 edition . Let's take a look.
Balance. It's pretty sharp, both in terms of graphics card performance and interest in textures. I also like using the accent color on the cuffs and hem, but I don't think I would miss the accent color on the neckline.
You. I love details about it. The designer comments in the pattern how much she admires the Japanese aesthetic of understated simplicity and I think she found such a delicate balance in this design.
Kiernan. It has dropped shoulders, multiple hems and a cropped length that regular readers of this blog know aren't among my favorite pieces. I have to admit that this designer is very beautiful, but I'm going to put things right and knit an old plain turtleneck with ribbed sleeves in a beautiful, warm and cozy yarn.
Paper faucet. The combination of the asymmetrical shape and the gradient yarn creates an unbeatable modern vibe that I don't really like but is funnier and more interesting.
Grayson. Exquisite and attractive case.
opposites arise. The combination of balloons and colored charcoal creates a look that a 21st century jester can wear.
island of glass Cheerful and chic sweatshirt that can be worn with a simple coat.
black box. oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
Carpet. I love the woven matte effect of this design, especially in blueberry and green.
When you're not there. Like the "veil" patterns on the hat and the colored stripe on the brim but not the yellow detail at the top which is a bit like a spider sitting on the back of the hat.
hat programmer. Even as someone who doesn't know how to code (but has done a fair bit of writing) I find it amusing.
brain eater. For the wayward lover in your life who doesn't mind looking like a screenshot from one of the scariest X-Files series ever! Seriously, it's a fun concept and well executed.
coup d'etat Not bad. The interplay of texture and color makes this hood a feast for the eyes.
Closed It's a little rough and ready for my feelings.
Thumbs up. This is a good pair of gloves.
Grow big or become a gnome. Very cute and lots of fun, although I can't help but wish these leprechauns were a little more detailed. I'm not entirely sure I would have realized these were gnome patterns if I hadn't been told.
Mix. Very stylish pair of knitted socks. I met many men who attracted me less.
