Noro Magazine Issue 11: A Review
In today's issue, we're taking a look at issue 11 of Noro magazine . Before anyone mentions that this was the Fall/Winter 2017 release, yes I'm late enough to get this review for ignoring my blog, but better late than never - I'm pretty busy writing reviews now as I put together:
Model No. 01 Fake Double Stitched Cardi: I like it better this way. As you can see from the style here, it will create a top layer for nice cool weather. I can't help but think it would be more useful with long wings, but if you stretch the wings, be sure to tighten them a bit more.
Pattern #02 Cardi Textured Cocoon: I think this will make me feel like I'm carrying a hammock.
Pattern No. 03 Cardi with a diamond pattern. Another beautiful shirt. I love the retro feel of the cut, the wonderful texture of the diamond pattern.
Model #04, A-Line Cardigan: I like chest and breasts, but there is too much fabric on the hips. This very tall and slender model is really trying to make herself work, she's still not that stretchy.
Model no. 05, elbow length reading. Very comfortable to wear. I don't really like off-the-shoulder cardigans, but they really suit me.
Model No. 06 Long ribbed cardigan. It is so bulky that it looks more like a jacket than a cardigan, but it fits well, the yarn is good.
Model no. 07, diamond print scarf. Very attractive scarf, it's definitely "How to show Noro".
Model no. 08 marble hood. Some interesting fabric colors on this cape.
Model no. 09, Brioche Cowl/Capelet: Nice hat , simple but not boring. The colors are so attractive.
Model no. 10, Hood of Infinity. I love to sew it. This is a great choice for this theme.
Model no. 11, star cover. Cool: fun.
Model no. 12, rope poncho. It looks like a bag that closes with a drawstring.
Model no. 13 Striped poncho. You love this yarn, but the texture makes it look like a Q-tip.
Model no. 14, rope poncho. This is a rug in the area that has tears.
Model no. 15, Raincoats and long gloves. I like pods, but not wing warmers, not a combination of pods and wing warmers. If you had to keep your body and arms warm, wouldn't you wear a sweater?
Model no. 16, button cover. Just portable.
Model #17, Rouana Kimono: She looks like an Afghan. Call me old fashioned, but I think fashion design should be based on how the clothes fit and flatter the wearer , not what would look best on the couch or on the floor.
Model no. 18, origami jumper. This collar is knitted separately. I love the idea of layering with a sweater, which can then be worn together or separately. I like "Cloak" and "Sweater". Milk has an interesting architectural look, such a beautiful yarn in this sweater.
Model no. 19: The jacket is too big. I like part of the vest, but most of it I don't.
Pattern No. 20, braided bodice. I like the design in general. These mixed frameworks look great, but then again, that would mean spending money on those processes . The model tilts the body back, so everything that is superfluous depends on how often a person is like this in real life.
Model no. 21, jacket. I like the thread used here but not the design. The jacket has a raw, raw look, which is similar to a beginner's design, these lace details look rough.
Model no. 22, V-neck cardigan: not bad, but not great either. It doesn't seem to fit very well, or that this twisted structure creates an interesting effect in terms of changing the direction of the cable 90 degrees, the stitch itself is attractive, it's distracting.
Model no. 23, pencil skirt. I love this one, I would style it like this with simple solid color sweaters, matching tights as the skirt itself has the visual interest the outfit needs.
Model no. 24, V-Neck Sweater I love Monet's watercolor-like yarn, but I'd like to straighten out those drooping shoulders, soften the fit, or just choose a different, brighter sweater pattern.
Model no. 25, poncho bodice. It's a very large piece, but it actually has so many eggs in it that it hangs quite nicely.
Model #26 . This one had great detail. I love this wrap effect in the neck seam, side seams and front pockets, but I'm very happy with the fit. This is a piece of clothing that should be roomy, but I would like it to be one size larger than the wearer needs, moreover - it would make those sleeves look smaller.
Model no. 27, Shell Stitch Cuffs: These interlaced "arms" are quite interesting in terms of design, with a beaded floral effect that contrasts with the ribs, but can't help but be part of the sweater.
Model no. 28, short series scarf. Very attractive scarf. The play of color and the play of width go well together.
Model No. 29 Loose cardigan. It's good enough, it's good enough, but I think I'll add two buttons at the top since it looks "just put together" with just one.
Model no. 30, side skirt. This skirt looks like a "returned Afghan", worse, it looks like it was made by an Afghan woman who received a ransom.
Model no. 31, asymmetric vest. It has some nice touches and the texture looks good, but I have doubts about the lines of the body that I can't make out in this available photo.
Model no. 32, cardigan tunic. In general, an attractive design, but I would like to correct the fit.
Model no. 33 Cap in striped fabric. cute hat. The yarn is delicate and beautiful.
Model No. 34, large asymmetrical vest. Hate. The comfort, the drum top, the noticeable depth of these chairs... the neck and ridge are attractive, but the snow and size need a major overhaul.
Model No. 35, plain cardigan. When it comes to "simple" in describing a model, a solid color should mean that there isn't a lot of detail, not that the designer didn't put enough effort into fitting the necklace properly.
Model No. 36 Ribbed striped vest. There are good seams, the yarn is good, but this vest had to be wrapped around the neck, hem, front ends of the couches.
Model No. 37, striped scarf. You can hardly go wrong with a classic striped scarf, this is a good way to show off such a beautiful and colorful yarn.
Model no. 38, side cover. I love the yarn used in this hat, but not the yarn or the fact that it stands out. If I used this my name would be Tuppe, Fifo or Jinx, I think I should live in a tree and make a living with cookies.
Model No. 39 V-neck vest Not bad. Nothing unusual, but fit, worn.
Model No. 40, Capri Chest of drawers. These quirks remind me of the episode "The Client is Always Dead," in which Claire, her teenage best friend Parker, tries to sew while under the influence of hallucinogenic mushrooms. Usually wild Claire, always sentimental when climbing, sews a pair of pearl stockings out of one or two crazy fabrics, gives them to her mother Ruth, and warmly embraces her with a declaration of love. Ruth, who is always happy to receive the love of her children abroad, proudly shows off her leggings the next day, which only adds to the anguish caused by her daughter's "breathlessness". It means I can have fun when that scene comes to mind... I won't cook, I won't put those capers until I fall in love with magic mushrooms or something.
