Six Years and Still Counting Stitches
Today is the sixth anniversary of Knitting Needle and Damage Done. In the past I've occasionally managed to make themed posts about birthday gifts this year, but strict (traditional) or sweet (modern) sixth birthday gifts make me ungrateful. I could write an article about using an iron in a steam lock I guess, but.. meh. So this year you just get regular photo memes that you don't think are as funny as I sometimes do to myself.
In terms of external bookmarks, this year's blog is as useful as ever, where I've been posting as often as my chronic fatigue problem allows. If I post regularly, the blog gets about 1000 pages a day and since its inception it has reached almost 2 million total page views. The Knitting Needles and Damage Done Facebook page is doing really well and surpassed 15,000 likes about a month ago, that's what I was waiting for. Fun and talkative place for knitters. Interesting and fun knitwear. The engagement rate of this page is pretty good compared to the Facebook pages of some of the most popular knitwear magazines, which have more followers than my page.
The KNDD Ravelry Group that I started two years ago has more than 330 members. I also use Pinterest Twitter , although I use both accounts for personal reasons and to promote this blog.
Looking back over the past six years, the most notable result of my blogging efforts seems to have been the impact this blog had on me . On the one hand, I was surprised to find that I still enjoy the job. In the world of knitting, I never fail to study, evaluate, and document my thoughts on new design ideas. Second, I learned a lot from my efforts. My knitting skills have improved dramatically. My rule is to try to learn something new with every project, I am much happier with what I have done because in general I have identified my tastes better and I have learned a lot. about what I really like, what I don't like, what I don't like, about how to put together a wardrobe that is harmonious, versatile and complete. I no longer follow the whims, but plan well, decide clearly what I want or want, and then play around or shop around to get what I need. And how amazing considering how little I've been spending on clothes these days, my wardrobe is in much better shape than it was in 2012. (Except shoes, sob. I still haven't figured out how to get quality shoes for almost anything I can wear. .) And what if I not only entertain my readers, but also help one of my readers become more critical? a? A strategic approach to their knitwear Wardrobe planning project I have developed myself that saves money, makes them happier in their projects Shopping, helps them dress, look good, how to reduce your carbon footprint so you can be proud that I have arrived. from:
So this site has been useful in my life. I hope it affects other people. But I don't know how much longer I will be blogging. From a financial point of view, the website did not work. It only makes a few hundred dollars a year, which is not a good return for the time I put into it. That's about a dollar for an hour's work, maybe less. If I had a few good hours in a day that gave me the power to focus, be productive, instead of making a living (in fact, I live part of the borrowed money), I would have invested that time in something that paid a decent price. is: I haven't thought about ditching knitting needles yet, but what I can do is reevaluate next year.
If you want to help save Damage Completed Knitting Needles, you can help with some horses. First, there is a donate button in the sidebar. If you read the site regularly, you can afford it. Consider making an annual or semi-annual donation, just as you would a subscription to a magazine or any other magazine you like. For example, if 80% of my regular readers earn me $25 per year, I will earn a decent income from the site. If you are a regular reader but are struggling financially and cannot afford to donate, please continue to enjoy this site. I'm happy to be with you because other people give me their web content for free.
There are other free ways to help me, whether you donate or not. When you shop on Amazon.com, your browsing using the Amazon links in my sidebar or other links on my site means I receive a small portion of everything you spend at no additional cost to you. And as you probably know, sharing blog links on your own social media accounts - telling other coaches about it - also helped increase my readership, which meant more ad revenue for me over time.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has read, followed, and commented. Your interest, opinion and enthusiasm is one of the hallmarks of blogging. This is at least a year of cable damage.
