Vogue Knitting Late Winter 2019: A Review
Vogue Knitting has released its Late Winter 2019 issue ! Let's see, okay?
Pattern #01, mosaic hat. Decent hat with patchwork ribbon.
Pattern #02, mosaic yoke cardigan. A very delicate and interesting piece.
Pattern #03, mosaic V-neck cardigan. It has some very clever detailing in the mosaic yoke and contrast tubing and buttons, although I'm not sure how well it'll fit the body on a non-professional model in real life.
Pattern #04, coat. OMG this is unbelievably amazing. The design, the palette, the screen... everything is perfect.
Pattern #05, Kaul mosaic garter. Interesting! These color schemes work very well together.
Model #06, circular wrap. It is a very beautiful designer piece. I think no one can use it without comment.
Pattern #07, Berets. Beautiful and intricate stitching.
Pattern #08, leopard print sweater. The classic leopard print looks like a nice and well-designed interpretation.
Pattern #09, Gloriana cardigan. It features "a turn as Queen Elizabeth I Goth, then as Clondike Ballroom Girl". It's brilliant as a technical feat, even if I don't know if it's affordable.
Pattern #10, Shrugging Fairy. It's a little tweet for my taste buds, but there's no denying that it's a nice afternoon wrapping treat.
Model #11, Lillian and Rose 3 piece set. He certainly crossed the line of both. It looked like a costume from a stage production in Midsummer Nights Dream , where the actors performed a sweaty explanatory "flower dance".
Pattern #12, Fairy Square Island sweater. I've redesigned it, but there's no denying that it's a very interesting island model.
Pattern #13, dogtooth hood. This is a fun update to the classic houndstooth scarf. Adding a crest works great.
Pattern No. 14, V-neck cable knit cardigan. Great use of a ruffle pattern which should be laid over a fairly quiet cable.
Pattern #15, plaid sweater. I really like the bold and fresh design, but there are better colors for this one.
Pattern n°16, Diamond Joel sweater. This one is incredibly effective and interesting for such a simple design.
Pattern #17, lace cardigan. I looked at this model for a few minutes and tried to decide if I liked it, but thought I'd answer the "I like it" question. The texture is excellent, the contrast finish and waistband gives a shiny feel and the folded scarf collar is unusual but attractive and appropriate to look at.
Pattern #18, Mohair Scarf. There 's a lot to this scarf... three different strands of "art"! Bright! glitter! Some border patterns! Bubble! Stripe League! And the crest! It can be confusing, but I actually think it works quite well overall, as the color palette is limited to pink and gray, which go well together and even have a certain contemporary vibrancy to them. It is part of the combination with a simple outfit because it is a statement in itself.
Pattern #19, striped sweater. I'm no friend of Mullet Hem, but in this case I think it works. It's long enough to look like a design feature without being a bug, and other designs have twists (i.e. back thread details, gradient color, stripes) that seem to flow naturally from asymmetrical manner.
Pattern #20, knitted sweater. Beautiful! The print works great, and I'm sure it will look great even in dark, warm colors, but what I like the most is the contrast of the cool, bright colors against the white. So summer!
Pattern #21, lace and stripes sweater. Not bad. I'm not a fan of the footage, but I have to admit that the combination of the footage and bright stripes is a fun summer look.
Pattern #22, color block sweater. I didn't like it at first glance, but after spending more time looking at the details, I realized it was the color reaction, because the design is good.
Pattern #23, animal skin sweater. Enjoy this knitting pattern from the winter 1989/1990 edition. It's a classic shape, the neckline is snug and while animal skin prints and patterns can go up and down in terms of popularity/designer wear, they never go out of style.
