Cast On Fall 2017: A Review
Cast On Magazine published its Fall 2017 issue . Let's see, shall we?
Flower bud. Not bad, but with its rounded edges and coarsely painted color, it's a bit raw and finished. It's undeniably cute and the butterfly button feels great.
unknown path. I generally like it, but this necklace makes me nervous. It should be asymmetrical, but just look skewed.
A ticket, a basketball sock. Nice pair of socks.
Mountain climbing jacket. I like this piece, though I find that an imperial waist is not going to flatter a woman with a pretty build. If this vest is for a woman who needs a little more than a B-cup, slip this strap around her waist.
baby in basket. I first thought it was some kind of little drawstring bag. This is not a bad hat.
Color block tunic. I like the basic concept of a color block tunic, but the execution is not quite right. The show is too visually fragmented.
Obliquely braided scarf. Useful stuff with some texture details to keep it interesting.
British diamond cap. Sweet.
knitted garter belts. Nice simple pillow.
Gold Aspen SMS gloves. Fingerless gloves usually expose the finger a little more than that, and the effect is a little odd, as if the fingertips are pointing, because the tip of the glove peels off, not by design.
Green aspen hand warmer. I love her.
Wear a travel vest. I like that! The shapes and details are amazing, and the curved head panels in the front seams give the sweater a visually flattering line.
Mosaic filling and chain stitch. This model has clever visual effects.
Mr Lis. It's supposed to be a fox, but looks more like a kind of fox-eating hybrid. The fox's nose is not very long.
Napoleon Jacket + Deseret. It's a type of cover and deserves it because the embroidery is amazing . It is impossible to increase the size of this design, but it is possible to correct drooping shoulders and sharpen the arms.
Sassafras Orange SMS Gloves. The fingertips are a bit more visible here, but the knitting has also been piled up as I suspect the fingers are too long for the model's hand. This one has a small pattern on the back, but it is not very effective.
Picot Edge tablecloth. Not a bad decor.
Red maple gloves for texting. This glove is similar to the SMS Golden Aspen glove, except that it is made of lightweight, non-sporty yarn. I like the smoother look of the lighter yarn. I never like it when my gloves look like oven gloves.
Pillow with rib and stocking stitch. This is a slight variation on the reed cushion of the basket above. I think I prefer the others because the smaller scale of the pattern gives the pillows a slightly more refined look.
Cufflinks for boots in a cage. I can only draw the boat cuffs when they get past boat. It is not true.
Market bag from top to bottom. It extends to the end as soon as you put your groceries inside.
Traveler. It looks old-fashioned, it's messy and the front zipper does not look good when folded, so you can see the inside edge of the zipper like here.
Fingerless zigzag gloves. Like this one that has the right shape and beautiful color.
