Cast On Fall 2018: A Review

Cast On has released the fall 2018 issue. Let's see what we do?

Austrian travel hat. Classic yarn quilt.

Bavarian jacket for children and boys beige. Overall pretty decent, but I’m definitely going to straighten those lower shoulders.

Cardigan basket. I’m not very thrilled with this designer belt. Looks awkward. I will reduce its depth - I cut like pliers. Part T is enough to keep this design in detail.

Bavarian Column Socks. These are the most beautiful socks I have ever seen.

Kaul Bavarian pattern. The cable king is very interesting. Or it scares me because it seems to have been modeled after a headless night.

Birch sweater. It’s not scary, but there are changes that will help. I straightened my shoulders and was probably looking for a fuller contour as I wouldn’t use white, cream or any other faded shade for the base color of this design. In my experience, adding color (s) on a pale background never works because the swimmer is always sneezing, see here.

Jacket for bird lovers. One such glorious work, not to mention many works, is the 0 needle knitted lace yarn. The shoulders are slightly sloping, but I won’t straighten them because I believe they work in proportion to this design.

Modern Connection I’m not selling a color palette here, but it’s a pretty traditional design - it can be easily done with more appealing striped colors or even solid colors.

Hood and triangular bandage. These pieces have a very nice texture.

Avora. Oh, how beautiful, completely portable. The bodysuit is woven from a double base so it is opaque, the sleeves are perfect, and the elegant lace under the cuffs gives it a soft look. I just have to do it myself.

Honeycomb jacket. Some of these gorgeous dots definitely deserve better color than this dark purple.

Retro scarf Legerdemine. It has some good streams.

Loudon sweater. I like the flaws and side details, but it will go better with the finished neck than the one used here.

Coverage of Morro Bay Golf Club. They are very well made and any golf club that has their set should be the best club in town.

Rotates in orbit. He looks so good that he is underestimated.

Patrick's jacket. I love this sewing job.

Funny three-layer sweater. A good piece overall. I don’t know what the intended effect will be, but anyway I’ll remove it because it looks weird and confusing.
