Cast On Fall 2018: A Review
The fall issues of Cast On 2018 have been released. Let's see, right?
Austrian street hat. Classic swivel lid.
Bavarian shirt for young and old children. Overall pretty decent, but I would definitely fix those saggy shoulders.
Cardigan with jeans in the shape of a basket. Not too keen on the checkered waistline in this model. He looks embarrassed. I will reduce its depth and cut it as soon as it is on my wrist. Enough to wear this design in detail on the sleeves.
Bavarian socks. This is the best pair of socks I've ever seen.
Bavarian sampler cap. Cover with very attractive threads. It scares me a bit though, because it looks like it was modeled by a headless pilot.
Birch sweater. I didn't like it very much, but there are a few tweaks that might help. I corrected the drooping shoulders, probably choosing a more finished edge and not using white, cream or any other pale shade as the main color of this design. In my experience, adding color to a pale background never works because the fly is always transparent - you can see it here.
Tunic for bird lovers. This is a great job, not to mention a lot of work, because it's a lace thread that is twisted into a size 0 needle. The shoulders are a little low, but I wouldn't fix them as I think they work in proportion to this particular design. .
Modern happiness. I'm not very happy with the color scheme, but it's a nice traditional design and can easily be done with a more attractive striped color scheme or even a solid color.
Also hood and three-way headband. This piece has a very nice texture.
Avora. Oh, it's both cool and portable enough. To make it opaque, the body is tied with a double layer and the sleeves are transparent and a small delicate lace on the cuffs and bottom completes the picture beautifully. I just have to do it myself.
Bee sweater. There are some nice stitching in this one that definitely deserves a better color than this dreary purple.
Legerdemain double-sided woven scarf. Good wiring work.
Loudon jersey. I like the sleeves and side nuts, but I prefer the finished bottom and neck edge more than here.
Morro Bay golf club cover. These are very well made and any golf club that has such a set has to be the smartest club in town.
Orbit. It looks pretty cool and understated.
Patrick's shirt. I love these seams.
Knitted sweater with triple effect. Good thing overall. I have no idea what's going on with the stripe effect in the center of the sleeve, but I'm going to remove it anyway as it looks weird and confusing.
Felt cap tulip garden. Cute design, but for some these images are more like radishes than tulips?
Marshmallows. Beautiful classic cardigan.
Jigi-jagi sweater. Considering I'd give this warning a "good thing", I rarely see it.
