Cast On Summer 2019: A Review
Cast On released their Summer 2019 release. Let's take a look at this, shall we?
Ant egg dish. I hate using knits (they bother me and are very thick and dirty compared to washable J-cloths) and especially hate the idea of adding bug eggs to dishes, but this designer tried something new with this project and in the other two of this edition, he, without using ordinary cotton thread, tested the fabric patterns with linen thread. He writes that the redesigned hemp napkins “dry quickly and rub food terribly, and our prototype is odorless. They'll be great at abrasion, too!" If you like fabric (and more), you might want to try linen yarn the next time you try something.
Herringbone scarves are unlikely . While I can't say the color scheme matches the design, it is a striking lace pattern.
Basketball headband. If the pink is warm and ticklish, it looks like something out of an 80s workout video and should be there.
Balls, balls, balls. Surprising!
Breton shawl. I love this modern look.
Wire column. The knits are attractive and the fit is good, but wearing a sweater over the bottom layer is still a little difficult, as it should be.
Claire Way jacket. This jacket is very carefully designed and crafted, and the simple patterned dragonfly is a nice finishing touch.
Box with folding. Not a bad design overall, but it looks at me from the inside and makes me lose weight.
Canvas wrap top. It's not terribly interesting, but it's oddly watchable .
Easton tunic. I'm here with goths, art deco details and this yarn combo.
Striped Fibonacci sweater. This is an unusually interesting color scheme and works incredibly well, especially when combined with a shoulder saddle design.
Stadium scarf in fisherman's rib. Simple classic stadium scarf.
Gazelle circle. Not bad. Color schemes and bee stitches work together.
Grace : I love this bright dress and I want to see it in a fun color.
Hemp summer skirt. Here, before this look, we have a frustrating double-breasted jacket paired with a skirt reminiscent of a 1940s lamp. Although either the vest or skirt design is objectively flawed, I'm not sure the two have one thing in common - they don't match in style - and certainly won't match in color. .
Join the tour. Here is the version of the Kaul mitts above. Not a bad design yet, it still looks inward and still appeals to me.
Monaghan. I usually sell simple Celtic yarn, and this cardigan is beautiful and attractive.
Downpour. A simple brioche scarf with a touch of color block. Badabil.
A dish with forks in saffron and curry. The combination of saffron and curry colors gives me a light retina, but I like the dots used here.
Transfer wire sweater. Not bad. I like the idea of using a line in the middle to switch between two color blocks.
West staghorn. It's the skin design, and it was a good choice for it, because the placement and stitching are perfect, and it looks especially good in this blue robin's egg.
Summer product companion and trivet. I find it interesting in a friendly, tactical way, and imagine a stone plate and food on a sunny breakfast table.
Close the wrapped container. I like to sew it.
Yarn socks from top to bottom. Very interesting pair of socks and I love the yarn pattern used.
Socks in a waffle cage. I love how sporty and pretty they look, with a fun mix of embroidered patterns and stripe combinations.
