Cast On Summer 2019: A Review
Cast On published their Summer 2019 issue. Let's see, okay?
Ant egg dish. I hate using knitwear (which I find embarrassing and very rough and dirty compared to a J detergent cloth) and I don't like the idea of tying beetle eggs in my bowls, but this designer tried something new. Instead of trying this project and two other weaving patterns on this issue using hemp threads, instead of using regular cotton threads. Converted, he wrote, the hemp fabric "dries fast and washes dishes surprisingly well, and our prototype produced no odor. It would be very effective even at exfoliating!" If you like knitted towels (and a lot of people like you), you might want to try hemp floss next time.
There is almost no chevron scarf . It's an attractive lace pattern, but I can't say I think this color scheme is a good fit for the design.
Woven headband with basket. If it's a hot pink and brown, it looks like something from an '80s workout video and should still be there.
Bubble, bubble, bubble. Science!
Woods must. I love its contemporary feel.
Cable shaft lock. The dress is attractive and the fit is good, but it's not always comfortable to layer down over a jacket, just as you would with this dress.
Clara jacket. This sweater has a nice, finished look, and the simple embroidered dragonfly has a nice touch.
Shrink with twist. It's not a bad design at all, but it hits me from the inside and makes me nervous.
Hemp top. It's not great, but I'll do it on a more interesting topic, which is any other than that .
Easton jacket. Here I combine brioche with Art Deco details and this yarn.
Fibonacci striped sweater. It's an unusual color combination and works very well, especially when paired with a shoulder strap construction.
Fisherman's Rep Stadium. Simple and classic playground scarf.
Gazelle County. not bad. Colorful toys and honeycomb stitches work well.
cheerful. I love this color-blocked dress the most and would like to see it in a fun color combination.
Summer ass hemp. Here's a boring sleeveless jacket I made at the beginning of this review with a skirt that reminds me of a lampshade from the 1940s. While there is absolutely nothing objectively wrong with the design of the jacket or skirt, I'm not sure these two parts do something for each other, they don't seem to match stylistically and certainly would. Each sample of them is in a color range.
Gloves with a twist. Here is a version of the covered glove. It's not badly designed yet, and it still looks on the inside and still makes me shiver.
Monaghan. I usually find the Celtic cable style easy to sell, and this jacket is very flattering and attractive.
A simple rainstorm brioche napkin with a touch of colorful squares. Works.
Rubber towel with saffron curry. The combination of saffron and curry color gives me a bit of a net, but I like the point used here.
T-shirt with drawstring straps. not bad. I like the idea of using the lines in the middle to switch between two blocks of color.
Herringbone jacket. Here is the leather design and it was a good choice for her because the shape and embroidery are great and the result is beautiful especially on this hot egg.
Pillars and pedestals summer harvest. They look very inviting to me in a homely and clever way, and I serve them to a sunlit breakfast table with matching cups and sandwiches.
Kitchen towels twisted blocks. I love this bite.
Cable hoses up and down. I love the very neat sides of the socks and the style of connection between the cables used in them.
Waffle socks. Love this fun and sporty look, with a fun mix of checkered style and striped braid.
