Creative Knitting Winter 2017: A Review
Creative Knitting Magazine has published its Winter 2017 issue . Let's see.
Elegant bobble hat. Funny, though I can think of a better color for it.
Colored wild vest. They all looked like bath mats with buttons on them.
The beginnings of color theory. I love it with all my heart.
Comfortable canopy. It has a slightly rough and mottled appearance.
Kireina's vest. Very nice stitching and fit, although I would add another inch to the depth of this collar. As you can see, it's not even flat in this image.
We knit and finish the hood. This is another hat that has an uneven and sticky appearance.
Reading socks for a rainy day. Beautiful and fun socks.
Hat and scarf in an attractive wicker basket. This is a beautifully structured hat and scarf that goes well with most jackets and coats.
on the edge. The model is referred to as a dress on the Ravelry website and as a poncho in a Creative Knitting ad. I'd call it a tunic, and because it's so heavy, it's not very comfortable. It's not a good sign when a model has to tilt her hips and put her hands on her waist to make the design look good.
Transitional tunic. Nice detail on the collar and cuffs, but this A-line shape is hard to put on.
weekend sweater. Simple and soft sweater with the shoulders down. There are better basic models out there.
Fall. Knitting coats can be tricky to put on, but that's not a bad thing at all. He fits perfectly. It's very simple and neutral, but goes well with as many outfits as possible, and the mohair-like texture keeps it from being boring. I'll be making this with a good quality textured yarn in a nice color and using an interesting attachment, such as a brooch. I will also fix the sagging shoulders.
hat with bow. Nice bent hat.
poncho bisque. It fits perfectly and the color is beautiful.
cables on the podium. I like it better. It's heavy but well shaped enough not to overwhelm the model and turn a simple outfit into something eye-catching.
Missing Cable. That's less encouraging to me. I usually sell corduroy sweaters without a problem, but they looked very bulky and awkward, with sagging shoulders and a dangling neckline.
Manual ski lodge. I'll add half an inch. The design appears to have been amputated as is.
