In the Bag

Last week I uploaded a selection of handkerchiefs and pocket boxes ; In today's post, I offer a selection of my bag/wallet designs. I've also published articles on custom bags , backpacks and backpacks .

The photo above shows the backpack and Tensity Mini bag designed by Talita Cuomi. After browsing through 65 pages of bag designs on Ravelry to find all 18 designs in this article, I can tell you that I highly recommend using handles, buckles, and other commercially available items to complement a hand knitted bag. Lifting the face from "homemade" to "polished". This bag wouldn't be stylish without straps and buckles. Since the choice of laces, handles, and accessories can be limited, I also recommend buying them before the project begins - perhaps even before you choose your yarn - as the completion of your project can be disappointing. Bags and no more accessories to be found. I would also suggest, if possible, a bag, even if the sample doesn't require it (these bag is lined ), not only with a strong washable lining, but also with a strong lining and maybe with clumps too if it seems it needs to be fed to form a pouch . This usually requires a home sewing machine and at least basic sewing skills.

Damask bag from the Berroco design team. Felting is another recommended direction for handmade bags as it makes the bag much more durable than just knitting. And it can be used to create interesting visual effects. I love the damask flowers in this bag, the handle fits perfectly and the straps are plenty too.

Viking Bag, Karen S. Lauger. Classic bag. An interesting choice of yarn and accessories will significantly soften the look of the "knitted bag".

Billington Pocket , Snowden Becker. How cute are these bags? Sewing adds the needed interest to simple shapes and color choices.

Cinch , Nora J. Whitebeard. It looks like the bag you see in an expensive store and sigh at it. Nice little metal tags.

Molly rug bag from Cricket Toomey. This bag is so cute and elegant to wear with a suit . If my admiration for this quality seems overblown, then you're not sitting with me as I flip through 65 pages of bag designs on Ravelry, the annoying part of which looks like a toilet. Paper bag with string.

Experience the tree of life purse by Cindy Pilan. The exception I'd make to my "make commercial accessories and belts" advice is if you want a consistent look, which of course often goes hand in hand with nothing more than a handle made of the same yarn.

Bag with neckline and closure from Diana Sutliff. It is very funny. From the Noro thread you will get a unique colorful bag.

check bag. The feel and volume of the crow's feet is combined with the beautiful shape.

Is that you Mr Morris , Jenny Tabrum. Here is another interesting handbag with an interesting felt pattern and nice shape.

Nicky Epstein floral flannel bag . I think I'd recognize a picture of Nicky Epstein if I met him in the dark. She loves fantasy-inspired patterns and rugs.

Wishbone cable pouch by Karen Payzant. The wiring in this case is interesting and well-formed.

Lean Me Bonnie Goulding. In this project it will be interesting to choose a combination of yarn and fabric.

Dr Mel Clark Jr Portfolio . The silk herringbone used here is exquisite and has a classic shape.

Lacey Leaf handbag by Pam Powers. Nice and original bag.

Evelyn , Carol Galaso. Reinforcing flat felt straps with fabric is another gripping option, which is great because this bag can definitely be considered "made and sold in expensive stores."

Pocket Magnolia , Here Huupponen. If desired, felt bags are perfect as canvas for a charming embroidery pattern. This is good .

The tried and tested flannel bag by Cindy Pilan. Another super cute bag. Pair this bag with a woman's favorite color scheme and it will make a beautiful and useful addition to her wardrobe.
