Knitscene Fall 2018: A Review

Knitscene has published their Fall 2018 issue. Let's see, shall we?

Francesca sweater. Not bad. The insertion of this open-waist braid into the sleeves gives a modern twist to the classic braided sweater design.

Felicity Sweater. Beautiful. I like the inclusion of side stops in the braid pattern.

Greta cardigan. Another great pattern of braided tights, but I wanted to improve on the edges of the mullet. There's nothing modern or fun about Barbush.

Lucy's sweater. I like the art deco wire kit and detailed cuffs, but I'll fix the drooping shoulders.

Olivia sweater. Quite clever and unpredictable.

Susie cardigan. Very attractive and comfortable, with interesting details on the rear cable. I would consider doing it for myself.

Natalia's sweater. The designer tried to incorporate a certain asymmetry into this product, but could not achieve the balance required by the asymmetry. With one arm tied with wire and the other flat, and all wired in the lower two thirds of the body, it creates a feeling of heaviness in the lower half.

Eleanor's gloves. They are so large and clunky in appearance that they look more like oven mitts than cold mitts.

Wendy Col. Beautiful. This is a striking graphic scheme.

Upper Margot. Truth be told, it was the large number of thrift stores that the publisher chose to include (and, oddly enough, prairie clothing styles) because they failed to cite the number of models for this publication.

Keith Cardigan. It looks cute, fun and new. Beautiful shape and color play.

Ingrid Wes. This will make a useful topping for fall. And a way to brighten a user's day if you choose a bright color like this.

Sal agat. Very good dress in this case. It's like an art print.

Beatrice sweater. I like the lace insert concept, but the lace details don't stick to the edges of the sweater body. Seems flawed. I'm going to adjust it so the sweater has a smooth edge around the entire circumference.

Elena Kol. There are some really interesting moments and I love the combination of turquoise and copper.

(At least at the time of writing, there are no Ravelry pages for this hood, or the other three after it.) I like this one, which looks like an ocean view.

I also like this one with its simple but effective interrupt point.

A crochet hood is a great way to display your spread yarn.

I love the combination of turquoise, chalk and white, as well as knitting with stretch and knitting with bag. They move each other.

Claire's sweater. Some cute selection details about it and its perfect shape.
