Interweave Knits Winter 2019: A Review
Interweave Knits has released its Winter 2019 issue and it has a science theme! Let's see.
Vintage sweater. This layout, based on the periodic table of elements, is good, but I'm not too worried about it. The table looks a bit rough and finished.
Risoom sweater. Attractive. The pattern "represents underground stems and root structures", resulting in an elegant leaf pattern.
O-Chem tunic. Cute! The hexagonal braid pattern that is "inspired by organic chemicals" is very attractive, it looks great and I love the neckline.
Atomic jersey. Another wireframe model, this time based on atomic orbitals, is attractive in the same sense as the previous one.
Asteroid scarf B 612. A beautiful dot on this scarf inspired by the boy carrying the work The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. I'm not that crazy about the deep grain at the end of the scarf that makes this model look like it has a sleeve around its neck.
inspired by star crib Inspired by the Hubble Space Telescope photo from the Pillars of Creation, this model is a wonderful piece, though I would rather leave it on the couch than wear it.
Saturn Ring Sweater. The extension of the middle yoke pattern was a nice touch and gave it a peculiar, contemporary look.
Chrysalis sweater. It's different and the design is interesting and it has a clean finish, but I can not help thinking it looks too eager.
Crystal sweater. Beautiful. Excellent shape and neckline, and the details of the body are striking and attractive.
DNA sweater. Nice corduroy sweater for fans.
VOTE vest. Good cables, and this one looks pretty snazzy and hot, though I'm not just selling it because it's on the front.
Celia vest. Normally this would not be my thing, but I'm happy with it. It has a 1918 feel while being completely contemporary.
sedimentary train. The designer of this model was inspired by "geological layers of rock formation sediments", but although I have to admit it reminds me of that, the striped sweater is also "nerdy but cute".
Arge Humeralis jersey. It's one of those weird designs that really work with baggy shoulders and short sleeves. This one looks modern yet attractive.
Soldier cap and cape in one set. I'm not sure about the split shape of the cape, but I think it fits, and will look better under a coat than the usual style, and I like everything.
Cardigan Dionaea Muscipula. Attractive and distinctive.
lab sweater This is one of the most beautiful men's sweaters I've seen in a long time. This is definitely a new version of the "bust strap" design that is so ubiquitous in the design of men's jersey.
United Territory. This coat is good. It would look better with a double collar than a single "inflated" fold, but we could not see it.
