Knit Simple Holiday 2017: A Review
Knit Simple has released a Christmas 2017 edition. Let's take a look, what do we do?
Style # 01, Hand Warmers. Simple and useful model.
Style # 02 ribbed hat. Not bad. Although I'm not thrilled with the shape of the top.
Model No. 03, Allo. If I make one I will use it as a pin pad.
Model # 04 Paper Towels. This is a fun change from the usual square tea towel.
Style # 05 Long Cap. It's a bit rough for my taste.
Model No. 06, dog cushion; And style # 07, bag. I can't say I'm careful about dog cushions that look tight and silly. The clutch is very simple.
Style # 08 Hooded. It's a little funny. Shaping is good and rotation does it.
Style # 09, scrub; And Model No. 10, a decorative scarf. Tea towels and a cleaning glove are fine. I like the scarf though I think it needs a fringe.
Style # 11, a messy bun. This hat design gets points for being creative, but the "Ban Like Pom Pom" look has a pom pom effect that has been squashed.
Model # 12 Stroller Cover. I don’t like the look of this ‘fairly beaten’ blanket. Thread is nice but deserves the best.
Model No. 13, a rainbow scarf. Beautiful scarf
Model No. 14, key fob. I don't think my keys belong to the youngest cheerleader in the world.
Model No. 15, shoulder off. I tend to do this with a more suitable yarn for a special occasion, such as silk or some kind of new yarn. Combining an off-shoulder design with a brushed mohair creates a beautiful whimsical look.
Style # 16, a two tone evening top. I like the effect of the colored lace panels, though I don't think I'd add anything to this head color with a black leather skirt.
Model No. 17, a jacket made of two fabrics. The combination of merino thread and lace creates a moth-eating half-chamber effect that excites me to get this thing out before the Maggots return to finish work.
Model No. 18, above. It's unique and beautiful, and it's a great way to add a warm and attractive layer to a casual look.
Model No. 19, open at the top. This jacket clearly understands that it is very confusing in the front view and has chosen to compensate by leaving the whole patch behind. Additional compensation is usually achieved if the end effect is successful.
Model No. 20, crocheted lace. It looks like a video game background that decided to start a new life as a sweatshirt.
Model # 21 month box KAL. Nice stitching there, and I like the fade effect, but I'll skip those cumbersome pre-stitches.
Model No. 22, basketball; And Model No. 23, basketball court cover. This is a great idea and so well done. I'm sure the little basketball fan of your life would love to play and hug a blanket and pillow.
Style No. 24, football; And model # 25. The idea of a ball and a field works well with soccer.
Style No. 26, football; And Pattern No. 27, football field cover. And there's also a well-made football kit. But as a Canadian I must mention that there is no set of hockey blankets and pucks. I probably have to design one myself because I know a young hockey fan will love it.
Model # 28 hobo bag. It's not an unusual bag, but the lineless bags tend to stretch terribly, as I see this bag, even if it contains a few light items.
Model No. 29, striped stretcher. This bag looks a little stiffer than its predecessor. Designers have added handles and secured the net bag by sewing tote bags bought from a store, which is a great idea. Make sure the tote bag you are buying and the net bag have a good color match. The white handles seen here do not match the ivory and green woven bags.
Model No. 30, crocheted bag. This is not a bad bag and is more durable than a knit bag because the crochet is much stiffer and less stretched than the net. But I'm still online.
Model 31, boat bag made of felt. This method is felt, which is another way to make a knitted bag less prone to stretch. Looks like a good beach bag to me.
Model No. 32, easy transport. This thing doesn't have the ability to hold anything without going to hell and there's not much to see. I'll take that with me.
Model No. 33 Soft Market Bag. The pattern for this is very nice. However, I'm going to double that, not just improve the bag, because I don't want to see the contents of my bag. Women not only bring baguettes and celery sticks home from the grocery store, we also sometimes bring tampons home.
