Knitty Deep Fall 2017: A Review
Knitty released the 2017 edition of Deep Fall . Come on, are we?
Pistachio and saffron. This is intended to be a knitted version of the sweatshirt. not bad. It looks great and comfortable. The designer suggests that if you don't want it to be wide enough, you can reduce the size and/or remove the font loads A.
host hat It's a very busy mix of models.
Glaswegian people. It's a small amount I have on hand.
Rhino. Classic and portable bell.
Waterfall. It is portable and has a contemporary feel and nice touches.
riot. I don't know what to call this room. Shoulder shakes are enough, but this one is longer and provides more coverage than standard shakes. "Sweater shug" is pretty accurate, but it seems a bit silly. A shortened version of the "slankette" or "slanket" (blanket sleeves) might be another idea, but it's more ridiculous. Other than that I don't think I would wear this piece as I prefer fabrics with a more defined look and feel, it's not a bad layer to wear over a casual outfit.
Boo-Boo This design was created when the designer was designing a jacket, and he didn't like the way the jacket fit the model, so he shortened it to a skirt. While I hate wasting my creative efforts to save failed projects and avoid waste, and look as good as Fair Isle and wing lines, I don't think the redesign efforts have been entirely successful. The skirt resembles a remodeled cardigan. I'll tighten it up a bit more, letting the hand stitching line hold them together and adding zippers or buttons, or skipping the front knot altogether and keeping a solid round construction.
Wellanda. It can be worn as a wrap skirt or as a shawl and I love the visually interesting lines and colors.
Oba habanero , beautiful piece. This looks cool and fun and goes with lots of outfits, lots of times.
Coychan waves. This designer created the hat and bonnet because he wanted to use the Cowichan weaving techniques he learned in class (and also co-wrote a post on the history of Cowichan weaving). I would say that these pieces complement the traditional style of the Cowichan jacket.
Extreme tension. When I first saw these socks, I thought they would be perfect for talking to a Flash Gordon fan, but upon closer inspection, the energy glow looked more like semen. I think Flash Gordon might be a good thing to wear on a date with a Gordon fan, but...maybe not on a first date ? But of course that is your decision. I don't know your life
Smooth. I love these vintage looks, this stylish menswear.
warm welcome. It's a great way to prepare for a dinner party where you can keep your guests stumped. Or if you are a crazy pixie girl with dreams and everyone knows it without saying it.
A bit cowardly. The piece was created for the designer's mother, and she told her daughter, "I'm tired of being natural and will wear unnatural clothes in the future." (It's really cool and reminded me of a cute attempt by Allison Lowry the day she left fashion at 60 ). The designer wrote that she was "trying to provoke [her mother's] hunger to satisfy the madness...something." I will not be ashamed of my children. "They oblige, while this design is confident and classic, and the shy one introduces some whimsical details.
I like to ditch it a bit here and there. Excellent body shape and seams. I love the vintage details on the front and the silver studs on the cuffs. The pocket, which is similar to the color of the coat body, looks mysterious, so I'll give it a different color or the same color as the main color. It's a great concept to have the lace on the bottom and cuffs, but it's a bit tricky for the jacket, so I used the lace in a fun contrasting color that could match the color of the bag. I don't really like the back neckline or its rounded edges or what's in the front so I guess I could reshape it to a square neck and maybe add some embroidery to match what's on the bag.
Round carpet. This little knitted rug is a lovely piece on its own, but I see it more as a rug in a modern dollhouse living room than a kitchen tablecloth. But I don't know your kitchen table or your dollhouse.
branched; That's all. They are aesthetic, practical and are done very quickly.
