Knitty Deep Fall 2017: A Review
Nitty released the Deep Fall 2017 edition. Come on, shall we?
saffron with pesto. It should be a knitted version of the sweatshirt. Not bad. Has a discreet and comfortable look. The designer suggests that if you don't want to widen it, reduce the size one size and/or remove the A-line riser.
Owner's cap. This is a very interesting pattern in a hodgepodge.
Glasswesian. It's a very small number.
Alicorns. Classic cozy hood.
Cascade. It's portable, has a modern look, and some nice details.
excitement. I don't know what to call this section. must be shrugged, but provides more and more coverage than a normal shrug. "Shoulder" is pretty accurate, but sounds a bit silly. A shorter version of the "Slanket" or "Slanket" (sleeved blanket) might be another idea, but that's even ridiculous. Leaving that question aside, although I don't think I'll be wearing this outfit since I like knits over a certain size and texture, it's not a bad outfit for casual wear.
M/s. This design originated when a designer made a sweater, the model didn't like the sweater, so he cut it into a skirt. While I hate creative attempts to salvage lost projects and avoid losses, and while Fair Island and Ribbed Hem are excellent, I don't think the renovation efforts were very successful. The skirt is very similar to a cardigan with redon studs. I'd bring it back a bit, either avoiding the hand stitch lines that hold it together and zipping or clipping it, or avoiding the front stack altogether to tighten the round design.
Villavarinda. It can be worn as a wrap skirt or as a shawl and I love the visually striking lines and the color palette.
Havana. Oh good part. They are well shaped, flattering and will look great in many outfits and on many occasions.
Cahuichan Waves. The designer came up with this hat and hood because he wanted to use the Cowichan weaving technique he had learned in class (and also wrote an accompanying article on the history of Cowichan weaving). I would say these items are a great addition to the traditional Cowichan sweater style.
High tension. My first thought when I saw these socks was that they would be perfect for a date with a Flash Gordon fan, but upon closer inspection the energy bolts looked like semen. I. . I think they could still be good for a date with a Flash Gordon fan, but... maybe not for a first date? But it must be your decision. I don't know your life
Lesula. I really like them, they look old fashioned, like plush menswear.
Welcome. This is what was used to host dinner parties when people wanted the guests to be a little unprepared and confused. Or when a goblin fantasizes about being crazy, and everyone knows that's okay.
Kinda funny. This piece was made for a designer mom who told her daughter she "did it right and now she's gonna wear clothes that don't even try to look normal." (Which, of course, made the video an overnight sensation .) Which, of course, made the video overnight." I'm sure his mom loves his sweater and that grandkids won't mind grandma wearing it, but I don't think the designer came up with a design built in. Design vagaries call for unprepared styling and some internal reasons, though this design is classic and confident, it smoothly provides for some unusual details.
I would like to change the order a bit here and there. Body shape and seams are good. I love the vintage style detailing on the front buttons and the silver buttons on the cuffs so that's fine too. The pocket is the same color as the body of the coat, it just looks washed out, so I'm going to make it a different contrasting color or the same color as the original. The lace trim at the hem and cuffs is a great idea, but too sheer for a sweater, so I'm going to crochet the lace in a fun contrasting color, maybe the color of the pocket. I wasn't happy with the neckline in the back, the scalloped edges, or the way it sat in the front, so I thought I'd flatten it out and maybe add some embroidery to match it. What's in your pocket?
Round carpet. This little woven rug is a lovely piece, but I still consider it more of a modern dollhouse living room rug than a kitchen table rug. But I don't know your kitchen table or your dollhouse.
The branching is almost like that. They are attractive and practical, adapt very quickly.
