Knitty First Fall 2017: A Review

Nitty has released the Early Fall 2017 issue . Let's take a look, what do we do?

Ankira. Not bad. I don't like edges that look unfinished but don't fade when the cap is on.

Volkig. Beautiful. The matte effect is very interesting on the hat.

Nappy. I'm not impressed, though. Better smart color combinations will make this design more vibrant.

Diamond leaves. Now it’s something else, even if it’s so different that I don’t know how much to wear it. I’m going to feel silly wearing it, but shortening the back so that it is equal to the length of the front, dropping seam balls from the back, will make this piece look pretty weird, just plain weird. I like horses, line play, the way the hat is folded, given a shawl collar in front.

Tie around the neck As I discovered when Iresearched a knit tie post a few years ago, knitwear is hard to find, but I have to appreciate this design. It looks like a sack that encloses with a drawstring.

Alalunga. Oh, nice. The unusual eggs and stitches in this shawl go well together and look great.

What the world needs now. As much as you salute the vibe underlying these gay pride earrings (this is the designer model royalty you donated to ACLU), I don't know if I can support the death penalty. I don’t think yarn makes jewelry attractive, because it can never rise above the “ten years in camp” look. I will replace the knot in this earring with a knot in pearl.

Focused on. I like the idea of adding a zipper to the hat, which gives it a modern edge that will work with modern clothing like a biker jacket. Wearing loose buttons and a long tie around the neck doesn't make the cap look good, but hats do.

Side scarf Beautiful knitted scarf.

Fade slowly. Some nice stitching.

References. Not bad with a pair of metal pipes. I used to keep their legs a little longer.

Rosette. As a stained glass enthusiast (craftsman), stained glass knitting patterns are like candy to me. Very nice hat.

Forest. Jungle. This is an unusual take on a classic yoke cardigan. I like to combine a traditional look with a minimalist and modern style.

Wisteria is a very nice classic dress that fits well, or instead I will add buttons, lashes all the way.

About lace. This is a beautiful dress that is easy to wear, but I will not extend the lace pattern to the waist because it creates an effect on the outside of the shoulder, but instead I will give a stockinet sleeve on the shoulder.
