Rowan 40 Years: A Review

Rowan celebrated his 40th anniversary with a special collection of 40 models from his archive . I only saw six of her models from that year, so I looked at her commemorative number, even if that means I saw some designs for the second time. Just for fun, I went back to my original 2012 model review and talked about whether I support my point. When I started working on this review, I hoped that Rowan would really go back to the last 40 years and provide an insight into all the models of four decades. But they did not. Most of these drawings appear to be from the last twenty years, only one dating to the 1990s. It was like walking into a modern history museum and realizing that the exhibition was half closed. But I understand why the Rowan editors did it. Fashion hasn't changed much in the last twenty years and it's easy to pick designs from the last two decades according to the standards of 2018, where the twentieth century designs need serious tweaking, and a lot of netizens do it I don't want to work so hard especially when you have a Paying for the newly released model.

We. This is a 2000 model It's so simple and classic that I doubt it will ever look old

A beautiful scarf The design of this wrap looks like 2009. Such a beautiful shawl will never go out of style.

Winter Flowers Here is another 2000 design. I like the delicate floral theme, the shape is good and it would be fun to choose a color scheme for it.

Orkney. This sweater is from 2012. When it came out in 2012 I reviewed it , saying I usually liked it and complained that the neckline and bottom were empty. The way the sweater fit into the model in the original product photo was definitely in favor of the design. Very comfortable here.

Charlotte dated 2004. At first glance I thought this model was from the early 1980s and I think it could have been without beads and ribbons, but this jewelry has a more recent look. It's beautiful, but if I do, I can choose to drop the ribbon and the bead. The details of the rose are very beautiful to me.

To try hard. Since 2007. A beautiful piece. I like fine and sophisticated painting.

Checkered coat. I don't know when this design was published because apparently it's not about Ravelry. In fact, it looks better in the original photo, because the model of the first one allows it to hang freely. I like the collar and cuff details, but I can't help but hope they were given some shape to make it look less clumsy.

Yuboya. Released in 2002. It's amazing how much this low contrast panel does otherwise for a very traditional motif. It really refreshes it and turns it into something else.

Agnes. Since 2004. French Knot is doing very well.

Soumak wrapped a scarf. Since 2013. When I first reviewed it , I wrote, "Soumak shawl wrap really attracts attention if you're the kind of person who can take this kind of dramatic wrap (and accept it, constant falafel) if you're not the person, but the design Love, buy double the yarn shown in the pattern and make a beautiful blanket

Addison. Dated since 2012. In my 2012 review, I wrote, "Normally I wouldn't include such a simple sweater, but I wanted to point out the things that make this sweater stand out: texture, raglan sleeves, funnel neck and loose fit, but not sloping. The simple design gives a very finished look. Knit this sweater in the color of your choice and you will find more wear and fun than three or four flashy sweaters with intricate patterned patterns. "Well, I still think it's a pattern of a fairly decent plain sweater. And it demands more attractive colors.

Tilly. Since 1999. Very nice.

Ordinary Cellini. I don't know when it was published because there doesn't seem to be a revival page for it. I found it to be one of those models that will look scaly to most women. Even this professional model can't make it work.

Guisley. 2009. A pretty piece with a nice texture that will add some interest (and warmth) to a casual outfit.

Bressay Hap serp. Dated 2007. It works better than I thought for the Afghan style wrap, but still looks much better than the previous one.

Walker. Since 2010. Useful and impressive packaging.

Move. Since 1991. And this design is much more than 1991, because it has small, large cuts that were all the rage at the time. I don't know why we never thought of fighting for a happy midfield at that moment. I like the overall design of both sweaters, but I would give them a standard fit with the shape of the waist.

Valentine. Since 2010. There is no denying that this is great. This is one of the designs that immediately strikes you when you see someone on the street.

Poftrui. Since 2003. Nice and funny look. In one of the Ravelry user photos I see on the Ravelry page of this model I will adjust the concept a bit and around a fine strip of color to add collar, cuffs and hem. Hem

Kintair. Since 2012. I wrote that it was a "beautiful sweater" . And I hold this bold and controversial position.

Brocade. Since 2005. Beautiful. I myself have been observing this design for quite some time.

Black carob. Since 2011. I like the floral pattern, but I can't help but think of redesigning it to make it standard. But I must admit that this design is suitable for Ravelry users who weave it this way.

Flora. Since 2004. It's very tasty. The edges and good shape transform an ordinary striped sweater into something beautiful.

Burgley. Since 2009. A beautiful piece.

Lidiza. 2010. The Fair Isle model is great (it's a cafe facet design above all), but I'll rebuild it. I see in the Ravelry user project that many Rav users have used the fair isle pattern to make any kind of sweater or leg warm.

Celtic since 2006. A very attractive and wearable jacket.

It has been flourishing since 2001. Delicious. This design appears in a short-sleeved version without a floral inlay print, but I think it looks better with a floral pattern.

Kirkwall packaging. Since 2012. This is what I said in my first contest : “I like this shawl, but only theoretically. The theory is that it can only be used if you are sitting on a bench and it is cool to the touch. "In the six years since I wrote the review of Knit Design, I have never broken my belief that large format packs are professionally designed. Look, the photos may look beautiful but in real life it is heavy and impractical. Many women wear them on the street.

To miss Since 1999. Personally, this is very minimal for me, but I have to admit that it can be used and it looks good for all Ravelry users who make it.

Dhurrie data from 2013. Here is what I have to say about this design : “If I could see what is really going on in the axis design. It looks like a sack that encloses with a drawstring I don't love this idea. Dimensions may still be unflattering; Adding another heavy item will not make things better. If you want to make this set for yourself, I suggest you wear it separately. It looks like a sack that encloses with a drawstring. I still don't believe in the shawl / clock fusion concept.

Franziska. Since 2014. Here 's my review from 2014 : “I can't keep the big sweater thing (or rather the inside). They don’t flatter most women and they cling to things and usually look sloping. The overall design is quite attractive, but I wish I could make it a standard one and lift those floppy shoulders. Today I am going to match 2014.

Martha. Since 2000. A classic laptop.

Answer. Since 2003, and it looks a lot like 2003, because then the backbone of the empire was all the rage. It still looks current and the seams are great.

Flora McDonald. Since 2001. I like bright stripes and tartan bands, but I don't like square and cropped shapes.

Don't worry. Date 2010. This is one of the pieces that expresses such comfortable elegance.

Monty. I don't know where this pattern came from, because there doesn't seem to be a revival page for it. It is so large and shapeless that the model spends a lot of time making it elegant.

Wentworth. Since 2009. A beautiful shiny striped sweater.

Cardigan game. Since 2000. I like the thread and checkerboard pattern used here, they work not in shape but together.

Snowberry This is another model I can't find on Ravelry so I don't know when it was released. It's beautiful. I like the floral pattern and picot edges and the shape is also good.

Olives. Since 1999. Quite interesting and elegant.
