Six Years and Still Counting Stitches
Today is the sixth anniversary of the knitting needle and the damage done. In the past I could sometimes write about this year's birthday present, but ironic (traditional) or cute (modern) birthday presents leave me quite stunned. I think I could write an article about using an iron on a steam room, but... eh. So this year you just gotta have a few photo memes that you probably won't enjoy as much as I do, some of my occasional ones Throughts.
As far as external tabs go, this year this blog has been as active as ever, posting as regularly as my chronic fatigue issues would allow. If I post regularly, the blog gets about 1000 pages per day, which is almost 2 million page views since its inception. The Knitting Needle and Damage Done Facebook page works great, after about 15,000 likes about a month ago it's what I was waiting for - a fun place to chat. interesting and fun things to weave. The page's engagement rate compares fairly well to the Facebook pages of the most popular Point magazines, even though it has a lot more followers than my page.
The Ravelry KNDD that I founded two years ago has over 330 members. Pinterest և I'm also on Twitter , although I use both of these accounts for personal gain and to promote this blog.
Looking back over the past six years, the most remarkable result of my efforts as a blogger seems to be the impact this blog has had on me . On the one hand, I'm amazed when I know I'm doing it - I still really enjoy working. In the world of knitwear, learning, evaluating and documenting my thoughts on new design ideas is never out of date for me. Second, I learned a lot from my efforts. My skills have improved tremendously. My rule is to learn something new with every project. I'm very happy with the things I do because I'm generally better at prioritizing things. I'm learning a lot about what I really like, what I like, what I don't like, what suits me, what doesn't, like, how to have a harmonious, versatile, complete wardrobe. I no longer go on a whim, I plan carefully, I clearly decide what I want or what I want, and then I make or look for crafts to find what I need. And surprisingly, considering how little I spend on clothes these days, my wardrobe is way better than it was in 2012. (In addition to shoes, sigh. For many, I still haven't found a way to get quality shoes. How do I dress me?) So I've done something to be proud of.
So I hope this page has been useful to my others. But I don't know how long I'll keep blogging. From a financial point of view, the website was not successful. It doesn't mean that a few hundred dollars temporarily saved won't yield a good return, that is, if he chooses to make a dollar an hour worked, it may be less: if I have so few good hours at one day that I honestly have the strength, I'm living in some debt) I should probably invest that time in something. well paid:. I don't think I'm going to throw the crafts away now, but all I can do is reevaluate them next year.
If you want to help save the damage caused by the needle, you can help a number of horses. Firstly, there is a donate button in the sidebar. If you read the site regularly, you can և pay, consider making an annual or biannual donation, just like you would subscribe to your favorite magazine or newspaper. Let's say if 80% of my regular readers gave me $25 a year, I would make a fair income from the site. If you are a regular reader but are struggling financially and cannot afford to donate, please continue to enjoy the site. I enjoy being with you while other people give me their web content for free.
There are other free ways to help me, whether I donate or not. When you shop on Amazon.com, browse the Amazon link in my sidebar, or any other link to my site, it means I get a small percentage of everything you spend at no additional cost. And as you probably know, sharing blog links on your social media accounts and telling other people will also help increase my readership which will lead to more ad revenue for me over time.
Finally, thank you for reading, following and commenting. Your interest, comments, and enthusiasm are among the awards for bloggers. This is a one-year point damage.
