Six Years and Still Counting Stitches
Today is the sixth anniversary of the knitting needle and change! In the past, I sometimes managed to create a theme publication for my birthday present for a year, but a metal (traditional) or candy (modern) gift for a sixth birthday discourages me a little. I thought I could write an article about using an iron to prevent steam, but ... meh. So this year, ordinary photo memes that aren’t as fun as mine and this time with some reflections.
In terms of external marking, this year’s blog has become a regular, and I regularly post articles on chronic fatigue issues. If I post regularly, this blog gets about 1,000 page views a day, which is almost 2 million page views from the beginning. The Facebook page with Dot Needles and Injuries is doing a great job, surpassing the 15,000 likes it was a month ago and it was, as I expected, a fun and innovative knitting site that will combine interesting and fun knit posts. The retention rate of the page is quite good compared to the Facebook pages of the most popular textile magazines, although it has more followers on my website:
Ravelry has more than 330 members in the KNDD group I started two years ago . I also use Pinterest and Twitter , although I use both accounts to promote this blog for personal use like mine.
Looking back over the last six years, the most notable result of my blogging efforts has been the impact this blog has had on me . First of all, I’m amazed that I’m still doing it and that I’m still enjoying it. I never get bored of studying, evaluating, and documenting my thoughts on the latest patterns and ideas in the world of textiles. Secondly, I learned a lot from my efforts. My textile skills have improved a lot - my main rule is to learn something new in each project - and I am satisfied with what I do, because I have defined my tastes in a general way and I have learned a lot about what I really do. what I like and dislike and what I don’t like and how to create a coherent, versatile and comprehensive wardrobe. I no longer buy on my own, but I carefully plan, decide exactly what I need or want, and then make or buy the right things. And surprisingly, considering how little money I spend on clothes today, my wardrobe is in a much better condition than it was in 2012 (except for the shoes, I’m crying. I still can’t figure out how to buy cheap quality shoes). I can go. Clothes. ) In addition to entertaining my readers, I helped one of my readers learn a more critical and strategic approach to their textile and wardrobe planning projects, which I developed myself, which will save me money. , they will be happy with their projects and purchases, they will help them with their costumes and beautiful looks and they will reduce their environmental footprint, so I have achieved something that I can be proud of.
So this site was helpful to me and hopefully how it affected others. But I don’t know how long I’ll be on the blog. This site was not financially successful. It's only a few hundred dollars a year, and that's not a good income when it comes to income - it's a dollar / hour job, maybe less. If I have so little time during the day that I have the energy to pay attention and be productive, and I don’t make any money (and I actually live in debt to some extent), maybe I should spend that time on something. who pays properly. I still haven’t thought about leaving the needles, but I’ve just re-evaluated them next year.
If you want to remove needles and damage, there are several things you can do to help. First, there is a donation button in the sidebar. If you read this website regularly and have the opportunity to do so, consider making an annual or semi-annual donation while you renew your subscription to the magazine or other magazine you like. Let’s say that if 80% of my regular readers earn $ 25 a year, I will have a good income on the site. If you are a regular reader, but are experiencing financial difficulties and do not have the opportunity to donate, please continue to enjoy this site. I’m happy to be with you, just as others have given me free internet content.
There are other free ways you can help, sorry or not. If you make a purchase on Amazon.com and go there through the Amazon link in my sidebar or any other Amazon link on my website, I will earn you a small percentage of your costs without incurring additional costs. I’m sure, as you know, sharing a blog link and showing other touches on your social media accounts can also help increase your readership, which means more advertising revenue for me over time.
Finally, thank you all for reading, watching, and commenting. Your interest, comments and excitement is one of the benefits of blogging. Broken ropes here for at least another year!
