Vogue Knitting Holiday 2019: A Review

Vogue Knitting released Holiday 2019 . Let's look at the glamorous places to stay, shall we?

Model 01., Victoria. This sweater is reminiscent of women's sweaters from the 1890s and I have to agree that it's a nice style update with long cuffs and slightly puffy sleeves, but it's also very modern and comfortable.

Example #02, Marilla. It's not that exciting. I am not happy with the slightest color between the bodies of the sweater - the effect is not attractive, not showy and completely unique. This will be a design that can be substituted with another thread option, I'm sure it will look great with two contrasting threads or the right accessory.

Example #03, Ocean. I really like the overall drawing - cheeky and fun - but I'll put it to hell.

Example #04, Wallaby. Well... um... the collar strap works. No undersized sleeves or front pockets, and the overall look is drab and tight.

Example #05, Gibson Girl. As someone who loves Edwardiana, I applaud the design direction of this edition. I don't think I can wear a sweater with inflatable sleeves because I'm the type to go downstairs, but I definitely like the look of this piece and the sleeves are neat and easy to wear. corresponding wrist.

Model No. 06, diamond. This is a new and modern take on diamond patterns.

Example #07, Parallelogram. It is quite sleek but long, not the most comfortable length for most women, and if a man wants to stretch it, he has to break his design skills.

Example #08, Rectangle. This designer turned the "underside" into a design feature by strategically using the float. The result is a reversible fabric that can be used to create two different looks. I am amazed and will consider this technique on my 2020 project list for the entire hooded clay set.

No. 09, Losange example. It is very smart but also portable.

Example 10, Agil. This is a great update to the classic Argyle vest. Picking a color would be a fun project, but I would recommend skipping the yellow and black combo as they will make you feel like Charlie Brown.

Model 11, open weave. This scarf is more about warmth and functionality. It will have everything.

Example #12, Dragging Jacinta. Funny This design is a good choice for dressy threads, as it is quite enough for an informal evening.

Example #13, Fleur de Glycine. It is beautiful and visually appealing, has a fresh and modern look. For a few minutes I looked straight ahead because the lines were wrong in front of my eyes and waves.

Pattern No. 14, Aether of Iris. Very well. I love the combination of angora, lace and sequins to achieve such a luxurious look, as well as the minimal use of pearls.

15. Eredua, Veste la Pivione. It's very beautiful and I'm wondering how much this piece can carry because I think the pattern is more important than the immediate impression. It can be paired with a simple dress or a top and trousers suit, and can be worn top or bottom.

Example 16, Kramoz. It's beautiful and I only wear it. I'll get used to it a bit though.

Example No. 17, Chalet de Lavender. Very beautiful dress. The seam is beautiful.

Model 18, Rose Petal. Usually, when I see a single armband on a Seam Petal scale carapace, I often joke about mutant mermaids, some of them come to mind, but in this case I can’t. "Birgol Bandages" is a strange concept, but the designer executed it with such skill that I'm amazed at the results. Beautiful stitching, beautiful thread and the fabric is really good to wear, the silhouette is very classic, as the edge of the ribbon is thrown over the shoulder of the arm, as in the second photo. Surprise! Aupa.

Jumper test in a checkerboard pattern. This is a sample of the Vogue Knitting "archive" for this issue. It was originally published in Vogue Knitting Fall/Winter 1985. It has also been reprinted in the "classic" book Vogue Textile Patterns. I think it's hard to find a sweater that suits a lot of people but that everyone can have.
