Vogue Knitting Winter 2019/2020: A Review
Vogue Knitting has released the winter issue 2019/2020 ! Let's see, okay?
model number. 1, headband. Very nice structured packaging. It amuses me that the style is so 1986, although if it were really 1986, the model's sweater and hair would be big enough for three women.
model number. 2 Java. I mean... a lot of hats. But other than that, I don't mind the design of the hat, so it might be perfect for someone who likes to be big or headless.
Reason #3, Warp/Ind. Simple, comfortable and voluminous bamboo knitted hood.
n Scheme 4, Scalenus. Big, worn ponchos aren't my bag at all (see what I did there?), but I have to admit they're well made for what they are, though I can't help but wonder how much better they would lay on the couch. . I like the colors and the rhythmic pattern of the triangle.
model number. 5, Small reversible coil. Necessary but useful.
Model No. 6, demanding. It reminds me of the long, open cardigan my mom wore at home in the early 1980s: it also had handy pockets and three-quarter sleeves that didn't fit when my mom worked in the kitchen. It's a pretty casual and practical outfit that can be styled in many different ways, though I'd say I couldn't help but catch some of the absurdly short sleeves. I would take it out a bit.
n scheme 7, grandfather. It's too utilitarian for me, it reminds me of Mao's jacket. I think this design may require an interesting and/or particularly beautiful theme as it needs a point of view.
n Diagram 8, multitasking. I would correct the crooked shoulders and think that there are better color options for this model, but otherwise this model is quite comfortable to wear and can be quite painful.
model number. 9, gradients. I would lift the dropped shoulder and tweak the fit a bit, but other than that it's sleek, modern and eye-catching.
model number. 10, popular sweater. Well, it's different. I like it, not only is it very noticeable, but it makes me look at it and check all the details.
model number. 11, tent. Beautiful and the cord pattern is beautiful.
n Scheme 12, Eco Classic lace cape.
n scheme 13, pergola. Another great little wire cape. I mean enjoy your eyes with this intricate wiring pattern.
model number. 14, em. Notes for this design on Ravelry's page compare it to the famous colors of Scottish stylist Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I disagree and I'm sure it's a good piece, but I'd be shocked if he took it all.
n scheme 15, whisk. It's a nice little jacket, although I wish I could fix those sagging shoulders.
model number. 16, Herald. Very attractive sweater. Despite the winter theme, Vogue Knitting seems to be looking forward to spring with some of their designs.
model number. 17, topiary. What a sweet spike.
n diagram 18, the cable guy. This is an "archived" model first published by Vogue Knitting in 1962, reissued in 1985 and revived in this issue. Despite all the drastic changes in fashion since 1962, I don't think it's been a year since it was first released to look dated. This is the power of a classic crochet blouse.
