Cast On Spring 2018: A Review

In today's article, we take a look at the Spring 2018 issue of Cast On Magazine .

bear sweater. It has good embroidery and I like reverse buttons. I will add a garter to the skirt and cuffs to look fuller.

Blouse with pearls. Very interesting work. The shape is good and the lace embroidery is really beautiful.

Children's clothes Delia. This little dress looks like the late Edward's wife - can't you imagine a woman from Downton Abbey wearing something like that? It is also suitable for carrying a baby. She is so attractive that I wanted to find a girl who could do it.

Cape Dragon. I think I would like to see this role in someone's fantasy conference, for example, as part of the cosplay of Game of Thrones , but in real life it seems strange. In the invention of the illusion of a dragon, the clapping of a dragon is a fabrication, but the cloak is awkwardly proportioned, the black yoke attached to the core of the cloak looks rough, and the skirt looks incomplete.

draped corset. Oh I love it, it has very nice lines and hangs very nicely. The curly skirt and curly neckline give you all the details you need. It's a little long. I like to cut it to hip length or cut it completely and turn it into a dress to wear with a shirt style lining.

drum bees and snowflakes. This is a nice template, but the gradients don't work well.

Special Flake Vest. Useful multi-layered things.

Scarf Illusion Argil. This is a fun and modern look for a diamond scarf. Finally, I will add a border.

lace butterflies. Its straps are very thin and look insignificant to my taste. But I would make them a little thicker. They look like i-cords. I want to make three lashes into a whip or a thick chain of lashes.

Moving little dancer. I like it a lot, but I can't help but look better with matching ruffles with shirt sleeves and skirts. This does not mean that it is not comfortable and attractive, and fortunately I know two little girls old enough to wear it.

Small rose buds. I will straighten the awkward-looking swinging shoulders and straighten the ribs along the neckline so that if it is deep enough, it will also get rid of the problematic outer ends of the rope.

Mayfair cardigan. Really nice job.

Pick-a-boo skirt and top. It would be a favorite small ensemble for a little girl (this is also an adult size). I like to do it in a happy color, because it's a little blah.

doctor's sweater. This design, which consists of a DNA chain and a caduceus, is beautifully designed, but I couldn't help but think that it is very difficult to convince a real doctor when it comes to clothing. As an editor, it's nice to think about the flight version of this sweater, but I'm not going to wear it.

Delicate rose gold. It looks very shapeless and fragile.

Spring Illusion Grip. They look a little rough and finished to me, but then I have trouble selling a woven doll because I can't use them. But I know many people who love knitting dolls, and as the illustration says, this is a great way to practice knitting an illusion.

Summer scarf on the shoulder. An interesting little case.

Turikum Shawl. This is a fun, modern piece.

Two-color cable top. Fine craftsmanship. I don't think the colors used here are suitable for this, but it would be fun to find your own color.

Hat with a blanket. According to the hat designer, "[In recent years, large colored blankets have been seen in grain warehouses, homes and commercial buildings in northern Vermont. Quilt panels are growing rapidly and are now found in many parts of the country." An entertaining guide to an outdoor art installation, reminiscent of a story I read a few years ago about a woman painting her car to look like a giant crazy ceiling with a bottle of nail polish on it. There is no reason to limit the aesthetics of quilling to just one. Inspired by Vermont's quilt industry, this hat is an attractive and comfortable item.
