Interweave Knits Winter 2019: A Review

Interweave Knits have released the winter 2019 edition - and it's science! Let's get a look.

Vintage sweater. This design, based on the periodic table of the elements, is good, but it didn't impress me too much. The tables look a bit rough and finished.

Loose sweater. Very good. The motif "shows the underground structure of the stem and root" and creates a wavy pattern that looks graceful.

Tunic O-Hem. Beautiful! The hexagonal lace pattern "inspired by organic chemical compounds" is very attractive, the shape is beautiful, and I like the hooded collar.

Atomic network. Another tether model, this time based on atomic orbitals, is no less interesting than the previous one.

Scarf Asteroid B 612. The beautiful stitching on this scarf is inspired by the scarf worn by the boy in The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. I don't really like the deep ribbed hem at the ends of the scarf, which makes this style look like it has sleeves around the neck.

A winding cradle of stars. Inspired by a photo of the Pillars of Creation taken by the Hubble Space Telescope, this is truly an amazing piece, although I'd rather leave it on the couch than wear it.

Ring network of Saturn. Extending the yoke motif to the center panel is a nice touch that gives the piece an original and modern look.

Chrysalis Sweater. This is a different, interesting and elaborate design, but I can't help but think it looks too bulky and bold.

Crystal mesh. Very well. Fantastic shape and neckline, as well as a spectacular and attention-grabbing yoke detail.

DNA networks. Attractive cable harness for double scroll fan.

STEM cardigan. Good cable, and looks good, soft and warm, although I'm not entirely sure how the front fits.

Celia cardigan. Usually it's not mine, but I liked it. It has a 1918 vibe while still being very modern.

sediment sweater. The designer of this model was inspired by "low geological deposits found in rocks", but while I must admit he remembers, it's also the perfect "nerdy but cute" striped sweater.

Jersey Arge Humeralis. This is one of those rare designs where shoulder bags and short sleeves really work. Has an original, but attractive appearance.

Solidago hat and coat set. I'm not sure about the shape of the split hood, but I think it looks cool - and would look better under a coat than with a regular hood - and overall I like this set.

Dionaea Muscipula cardigan. Interesting and unique.

laboratory clothes. This is one of the coolest men's sweaters I've ever seen. This is definitely a new twist on the ubiquitous chest line design in men's jersey design.

Field uniform cap. This hood is fine. It would be better if it was worn twice around the neck than in one fold, in an "inflated tube", but then it does not look very good.
