Knitscene Summer 2018: A Review
Nietzsche published his 2018 summer edition . Let's take a look.
Rotten bag. This is a beautiful and well made bag. I love the sturdy handles and the new design that captures the aesthetic of the Peruvian bag and notice the cute alpaca pattern. I'll arrange it to keep it in shape. As you can see the lower part is free and there is probably nothing inside.
A pair of socks with an elegant look.
On the way. Just like this one, slim, attractive and wearable.
beach outfit. What I first thought was a bit of yellow in the design of this dress actually shows off the model's bikini. This outfit would be a cute beach dress but maybe not as good as a street outfit because it looks amazing. To be honest, the name and style accurately reflects its location.
If Pablo Picasso knitted cube socks, he could make such beautiful socks .
Vest made of wood. I love the straps on this outfit, but the vest looks skimpy and exotic. It doesn't make a cute suit and I can't imagine adding anything to that other outfit.
escape bag. I love the body of the bag and appreciate the quality of the lining and reinforcement, but that style of shoulder strap that we saw in the Puget bag in last week's Knit.Wear Spring + Summer 2018 review didn't work. . This bag: The style, color and texture of the shoulder straps contrast with the bag. I don't even see the bag handle working because of the drawstring at the top, so I'm going to turn it into a backpack by adding straps and a top flap.
At the top of the puzzle. Not bad. I can't help but think there is a better color for this top. It's not that these colors don't go well together, but subtle color combinations can add visual depth to a design.
Scarf Pirha. I love the combination of traditional lace patterns and modern lines.
Ripple Tank isn't bad. I'm not a fan of dropped seams or mullet edges, but both work well here as these tanks are used as a cover.
The sand tank is a charming little part of it. Tassel shoulder straps are a nice touch. Looks young, but then Knitscene meets a younger population. The bottom hem is ribbed so this outfit can be worn tucked in or left on.
Sandy cardigan. This is a beautiful breezy cardigan with a gorgeous lace pattern and the elegance of a shawl.

tank sink. The front of this jersey is amazing but I'm not thrilled with the back. I decided to remove the straps (and reshape the back to match), finish the back with the same hemline as the front, and add a picot edge to the neckline and armholes.
slide sweater. Fresh and attractive color blocking. It would be nice to have a color for it.
Stackable scarves. I love the idea of this scarf but I think it needs something other than a leotard in the middle.

Above the tide pool. This halterneck design is simple and straightforward, but that's the way it should be. It really is the perfect thing of its kind.
Upper Tonkin. This is a beautiful retro style cape that requires no effort from the wearer to keep it in place.
Wave tanks on another small beach. I'm going to do something different with the neckline and armholes because the neckline looks unfinished and the hem of the pico sleeves looks a bit messy. Regular ribs will do. Beautiful lace at the ends.
Sock window with moss embroidery. Just as. The seaweed pattern and overall contrasting lines and toe are all the details needed for this sock and the threads chosen for this example work really well.
