Knitting Traditions Fall 2017: A Review
Knitting Tradition has released its fall 2017 edition. Let's see, what to do?
Aviation sweater. This is not the bad part. Leather and lace lids give a little more fit. I would tend to fix fallen shoulders and probably try the effect of replacing striped leather belts.
camera case. This is fun. This vintage camera bag is often a smart and useful bag, so why not a knitted hipster version?
Shall Crystal Palace. This adorable scarf is inspired by the entrance to the famous Crystal Palace at the Grand Exhibition in Victorian England. I do not think Prince Albert expected his magnificent project to inspire creative artists a century and a half later.
Cardigan Quircia. He sits very badly and is bloated forward.
Bolero flying machine. The good part. I like the stumpunk atmosphere.
Around the grave. A beautiful enclosure with architectural cables.
Sweater with high neck. A classic dress and worn with beautiful details on the sleeves.
He spat in disguise. These look like toilet paper straps for your feet.
Jacquard boot cover. It also reminds me of toilet paper coatings, although in this case I prefer the low contrast knitting effect used here and I am very interested to see the effect used in other designs.
Cashmere handkerchief. What fantastic work.
Jersey and Manchester. Nice cut I prefer to do this with soft wool yarn over cotton yarn for a more romantic effect (having a fresh feel).
Maurice and Vine Flower Gloves. It's pretty embroidered, I really like the pretty pattern on the back and the pretty lace, though I'm a little confused what to wear with them. I think they would look great on someone with the romantic feel of a bohemian dress.
Nottingham Socks. Oh, I love these stroller socks, with their sporty and fun touch.
samurai hood. Lace is another beautiful piece and is quite versatile as it can be worn as a hood, poncho or hat.
The hood beetle. Funny, interesting and impressive.
Shebeke Tam. Tam is inspired by attractive stained glass that looks great from every angle. I’m not crazy about the color scheme, but it’s easy to fix.
stumpunk jumper. I like it very much. The shape is good and the gear pattern is well designed and smart.
Bags of thousands of miles. It's quite fun and will be just as effective for Victorian costumes, steam punk lovers and those who just want an attractive evening bag.
