Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine 62: A Review, Part 2
Today we look at the second half of the design in Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine 62 after looking at the first half three days ago.
Bradshaw. Classic turtleneck sweater with cable.
Pasture. I love the detail on the body of this coat, the back looks quite edgy, but the front looks incomplete and the sleeves look silly.
Midnight. Nice shape and texture, but thought of doing it with a fur yarn as it requires a bit more visual interest.
corn scarf. I rarely see a crocheted scarf that I really like, but I like this one with a nice weaving effect.
fumbar. It's a refreshing version of the classic Fair Isle yoke, has a good fit and I love the soft neutral color scheme.
Midnight cap and dimmer . I prefer this one, which can be worn alone or in layers, and like the versatility of the idea of a hoodie and sweater set that I might have to make my own. Although I would wear a regular belt, not a piece of leather or thread or anything else around the model's waist.
Mandelbury. The texture is good, the colors are beautiful, but not the checkered sleeve cardigan.
Farnley. That's quite funny. I also like pom poms, though I would make them a little smaller.
dark scarf This is quite the eye-catcher and a great way to add a touch of style to a simple outfit.
Oxton. Nice classic piece.
Gransmoor. Very nice design with leaves and diamonds, although I would have done it in a different color scheme. This dark blue and light blue combination is popular with designers, but for some reason I never liked it - visually it's a bit rough and fake.
With a hoodie. It is very simple but portable enough.
Trick. Overall good, but it has an ugly box shape that does not fit this professional model. Normally I would suggest adding a waist shaper, but in this case it can be difficult given the tight cable pattern, so I will probably skip this design.
Dome. It looks like this designer tried to spruce up an overly simplistic garment by casually adding ties, and like most of the design elements that were randomly added, it does not.
March. Very effective coat with a mosaic pattern.
The sun went down. Fantastic sweater with a small cut. It can be hard to wear, but looks cute over a dress.
bilby. This one looks so detached and depressing that even the model wearing it looks like she's suddenly sitting in a dark room, wrapping herself in a blanket and just wants to eat marshmallows straight out of the can.
Night. Not bad, though this long, tight sweater is pretty hard to wear. However, this is an easy solution - just adjust it to the right length for the wearer.
Takri tjalie. This fitted scarf hat appeared in the first part of this review and I really like this scarf. It is a good idea to attach it to the pipe so that there is no "wrong side".
