Cast On Summer 2019: A Review

Cast On has released a summer 2019 issue . Let's take a look at this, shall we?

Cloth ant for eggs. I hate using crochet doilies (they are uncomfortable for me and are so rough and messy compared to a cleaning cloth) and I don't particularly like the idea of attaching insect eggs to my kitchen towel, but this designer has tried something new. . in this project and in two other kitchen fabric designs in this edition, instead of experimenting with hemp yarn, with plain cotton yarn. He writes that he is confident that hemp cloths "dry quickly and wash dishes surprisingly well, and our prototype doesn't stink." They'd be great for peels too! ”If you love crochet doilies (which many do), you might want to try hemp yarn next time you knit.

There is hardly any scarf with a Chevron . It's a striking lace pattern, although I can't say I think this color combination matches the design.

Basket fabric headband. If it were a bright pink headband, it would look like it came out of an 80s exercise video and should stay there.

Bobble, Bobble, Bobble. Magic!

Breton shawl. I like its modern feel.

External column mesh. The embroidery is nice and the fit is good, but wearing it with an underlayer sweater is still a bit of a bad thing, because you have to.

Clara Vee jacket. This jacket is well cut and stitched and the simple embroidered dragonfly is very pretty.

Curved hood. It's a really nice design, but it looks at me from the inside and makes me shiver.

Hemp top. It's not scary, but I'll be doing it from a more interesting thread, i.e. except for any other thread here .

Easton tunic. Here I mix brioche, art deco details and this yarn.

Fibonacci striped sweater. It's an incredibly unusual color and works surprisingly well, especially when combined with an off-the-shoulder design.

Scarf at the "Fisherman's Rib" stadium. A simple classic stadium scarf.

Gazli Circle. Not bad. Color schemes and embroidered honeycombs work well.

Adorn. I prefer this color block dress and want to see it in a fun color palette.

Summer skirt in hemp. Here is a gray cross-waisted vest made at the beginning of this review, paired with a skirt reminiscent of a 1940s candlestick. While there is nothing objectively wrong with the design of a vest or skirt, I don't know if the two pieces do something for each other - they seem to have nothing stylistically related to each other - and I certainly wouldn't. in sample color.

Cheerful gloves. Here we have a version of the hat with gloves. It's still good in terms of design, looks inward and still makes me shiver.

Mangano. All in all, I can easily sell Celtic braid patterns and this cardigan is very comfortable and attractive.

Storm. Simple brioche scarf with a touch of color block. He works.

A leather and saffron tablecloth. The combination of saffron and skin color gives me a bit of a retinal retina, but I like the stitching used here.

Sweater with removable elastic. Not bad. I like to use the stripes in the middle to switch between the two color blocks.

Deer horn vest. This is a great design and a great choice for leather because the shape and embroidery are great and the result is great, especially on that blue shoulder.

Post and post summer harvest. I find it very attractive in a simple and crafty way and depicts ceramic mugs and utensils on a sunny breakfast table.

Kitchen cloth with twisted blocks. I love the stitching in this one.

Cable socks from top to bottom. I love a very attractive pair of socks and the string pattern used on them.

Waffle socks. I love their sporty chic look with a fun combination of plaid pattern and striped fin.
